Prevalence Of Depression, Anxiety And Stress After The Covid-19 Pandemic Period Among Students At The Medical University Of Sofia; Significance Of Demographic, Educational, And Pandemic-Related Variables, Nadya Avramova

This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress among undergraduate dental students at Sofia Medical University and to investigate its associations with some demographic, educational and pandemic-related variables. A self-reported questionnaire that included the validated DASS-21 scale was administered to a group of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th year students (n=70, response rate 95.7%). Results indicated abnormal levels of depression, anxiety, and stress in 34.3%, 65.7% and 59.7% of the participants, respectively. A 34-year-old female presented with a failing implant in the esthetic zone. The implant was removed, and the site was reconstructed with guided bone regeneration and a pedicle connective tissue graft. Esthetic crown lengthening was performed on the adjacent teeth to create a harmonious gingival symmetry. Full ceramic crowns were placed on all teeth, including an implant-supported fixed partial denture. Follow-ups at 3, 6, and 12 months showed proper healing with healthy soft tissues and correct bilateral gingival symmetry. The pink and white esthetic scores improved from 8.7 pre-operatively to 19.2 post-final restorations. The patient was pleased with the esthetic …

The biocompatibility of toothpaste in an oral cavity should be approved by clinical trials. Nowadays, herbal toothpaste is increasing in popularity due to its natural ingredients. Being genetically similar to humans, zebrafish are used in potential toxicity testing. The zebrafish embryotoxicity test is a fast and straightforward method to study chemical toxicity during embryogenesis.

Given the importance of oral health in maintaining the general health and well-being of an individual, this dissertation includes three independent studies examining dental care utilization and expenditures among adults in the U.S. The first study examines the effectiveness of preventive dental visits on treatment utilization and expenditures among adults aged 18 and above. The second study focuses on the impact of paid sick leave on different types of dental services utilization among working adults aged 18-64.
