Plural Communities: A Cultural Mapping Project + A Framework Plan For Cherokee Village, Arkansas, Community Design Center

Community Design Center Project Reports

What do urban designers do with culture? How might we redevelop a mid-century modern planned community through the mapping of cultural influences that shaped it? We explored memory and heritage central to cultural mapping and its participatory-based forms of public inquiry. 54 drawings integrate maps, folklore materials, archived media, photographs, and new drawings into five synchronic cultural frameworks that shaped Cherokee Village—Native American heritage, Ozark pioneer and folk heritage, camping and scouting, midcentury planned communities, and regional modernism in design and planning.

From my podcast episode, I was hoping to gain a better understanding of how the local Lewisburg community and its residents view Bucknell students and how they may positively and negatively impact the local area. Many industries across Nebraska are experiencing workforce shortages, and the transit industry is no exception. Recently, the University of Nebraska at Omaha Center for Public Affairs Research partnered with the Nebraska Safety Center at the University of Nebraska at Kearney to conduct a survey of transit drivers across Nebraska. This work is supported by an ongoing grant both Centers have with the Nebraska Department of Transportation to enhance rural transit operations throughout Nebraska. การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาระดับพฤฒพลังและปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤฒพลังของผู้สูงอายุชายและหญิงในประเทศไทย โดยใช้ข้อมูลการสำรวจระดับประเทศจากโครงการ “การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางประชากรและความอยู่ดีมีสุขในบริบทสังคมสูงวัย” ซึ่งดำเนินการเก็บข้อมูลโดยวิทยาลัยประชากรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ในปี พ.ศ. 2559ผลการศึกษาระดับพฤฒพลัง พบว่าผู้สูงอายุชายมีระดับคะแนนพฤฒพลังสูงกว่าผู้สูงอายุหญิงในพฤฒพลังด้านการทำงานเชิงเศรษฐกิจ พฤฒพลังด้านการดำรงชีวิตโดยพึ่งตนเองได้ มีสุขภาวะที่ดีและมีความมั่นคง และพฤฒพลังด้านศักยภาพและสภาพแวดล้อมที่เอื้อต่อการมีพฤฒพลัง ทั้งนี้ ผู้สูงอายุชายมีคะแนนพฤฒพลังมากที่สุดในตัวชี้วัดการประกอบกิจวัตรประจำวันขั้นสูง (IADLs) และทุกตัวชี้วัดในพฤฒพลังด้านการทำงานเชิงเศรษฐกิจ ในขณะที่ผู้สูงอายุหญิงมีคะแนนพฤฒพลังมากที่สุดด้านการมีส่วนร่วมในสังคมในตัวชี้วัดการดูแลสมาชิกในครอบครัว ในส่วนของผลการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการมีพฤฒพลังด้วยการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยโลจิสติกแบบไบนารี พบว่า เพศ สถานภาพสมรส รายได้เฉลี่ยต่อปี และการเตรียมการเพื่อให้มีพฤฒพลัง มีความสัมพันธ์กับการมีพฤฒพลังทุกด้านอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p

This study examines the demographic and socio-economic factors affecting labour productivity in service enterprises across Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Previous research primarily focuses on manufacturing firms, leaving a gap in understanding productivity in service firms. Given that the service sector is increasingly significant in ASEAN economies, contributing nearly half of the region's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2022, this study targets this crucial sector (Secretariat, 2023).Rapid industrialisation, ageing populations, and shrinking workforces in these countries makes it necessary for enterprises to understand how to enhance labour productivity. Human Capital And Gender Dynamics In Leadership: Analysis Of Labor Productivity And Technical Efficiency In Bangladesh, Indonesia, And Pakistan, Zun Pwint Bo Bo

This study examines the impact of human capital and gender dynamics in leadership on labor productivity and technical efficiency in firms from Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Using data from the World Bank Enterprise Survey, the analysis uses Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), and Tobit regression techniques. The findings reveal significant variations in labor productivity and efficiency among firms in the three countries, influenced by factors such as firm characteristics, managerial experience, workforce skill composition, and gender leadership. The results indicate that higher average wages positively impact labor productivity and technical efficiency across all three countries, supporting …

การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษาคือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต (2) เพื่อทดสอบอิทธิพลของปัจจัยทางประชากรและสังคม ปัจจัยการทำงานและปัจจัยทรัพยากรการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่ส่งผลต่อการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต และ (3) เพื่อทดสอบอิทธิพลของปัจจัยทางประชากรและสังคม ปัจจัยการทำงานและทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลที่ส่งผลต่อรายได้ของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต โดยการศึกษาครั้งนี้ศึกษากลุ่มประชากรวัยแรงงานที่มีอายุ 18 – 59 ปี มีสถานภาพการทำงานเป็นลูกจ้างและมีการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตในระหว่าง 3 เดือนก่อนวันสัมภาษณ์ ผู้ศึกษาใช้ข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากการสำรวจการใช้เทคโนโลยีและการสื่อสารในครัวเรือนและการสำรวจภาวะการทำงานของประชากรของสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติในปี พ.ศ.2558 พ.ศ.2561 และพ.ศ.2563 ผลการศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการใช้ประโยชน์จากอินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต พบว่า กลุ่มเพศหญิง อายุน้อย การศึกษาสูง อาศัยอยู่เขตเทศบาล รายได้สูง ทักษะแรงงานสูง มีการใช้คอมพิวเตอร์ทำงานและมีทรัพยากรการการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่ดีกว่ามีแนวโน้มที่จะใช้ประโยชน์จากอินเทอร์เน็ตทางเศรษฐกิจมากกว่า ในขณะที่ลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่มีรายได้ต่ำและทำงานเป็นลูกจ้างรัฐบาลและรัฐวิสาหกิจมีแนวโน้มที่จะใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตเพื่อการศึกษาเรียนรู้มากกว่า สำหรับการศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อรายได้ของลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ต พบว่า ลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่มีทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลต่ำที่สุดและสูงที่สุดนั้นมีช่องว่างทางรายได้ที่แตกต่างกันถึงร้อยละ 36 – 38 ส่วนลูกจ้างผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตที่เป็นเพศหญิงและมีสถานภาพโสดเป็นกลุ่มที่มีความได้เปรียบด้านทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล แต่กลับได้รับผลตอบแทนทางรายได้ที่น้อยกว่าแสดงถึงข้อจำกัดในการเข้าถึงทรัพยากรในพื้นที่นอกเขตดิจิทัล รวมถึงอาจมีข้อจำกัดในการแปลงทุนทางเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลให้เป็นทุนทางเศรษฐกิจในชีวิตจริง การศึกษาในครั้งนี้ทำให้ทราบผลกระทบของกระบวนการเปลี่ยนผ่านเป็นดิจิทัล (Digitalization) ที่มีต่อประชากรกลุ่มวัยแรงงาน การเข้าถึงทรัพยากรการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตและการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพอาจช่วยส่งเสริมความเท่าเทียมกันในทางสังคมที่มีอยู่ได้ หากผู้ใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตสามารถแปลงทุนในพื้นที่ดิจิทัลให้เป็นทุนในพื้นที่ชีวิตจริง ดังนั้นการลดช่องว่างทางดิจิทัลโดยส่งเสริมการเข้าถึงทรัพยากรในพื้นที่ดิจิทัลอย่างเท่าเทียมจึงมีความสำคัญในการสร้างสังคมที่เป็นธรรมในยุคเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล
