การปรับโครงสร้างกำลังพลถือเป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญของการปฏิรูปกองทัพจีนในปี 2015 ภายใต้การนำของ สีจิ้นผิง ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของยุทธศาสตร์การฟื้นฟูความยิ่งใหญ่ของประเทศหรือ “ความฝันจีน” โดยมุ่งสร้างกองทัพที่ทันสมัย เข้มแข็ง และมีประสิทธิภาพสูง เพื่อเป็นหลักประกันความมั่นคงและผลักดันการยกระดับสถานะของจีนบนเวทีโลก การปรับโครงสร้างกำลังพลของกองทัพจีนประกอบด้วย การปรับลดกำลังพลลง 300,000 นาย และการปรับสัดส่วนกำลังพลระหว่างเหล่าทัพ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการปรับโครงสร้างดังกล่าวช่วยให้กองทัพจีนสามารถจัดสรรงบประมาณได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น โดยเฉพาะการลงทุนในเทคโนโลยีและอาวุธยุทโธปกรณ์ที่ทันสมัย เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการฝึกอบรมกำลังพล การวิจัยและพัฒนาด้านการทหาร และการบูรณาการการปฏิบัติการระหว่างเหล่าทัพ นอกจากนี้ การปรับโครงสร้างยังส่งผลให้กองทัพจีนมีขีดความสามารถในการปฏิบัติภารกิจที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น ทั้งในระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลก โดยเฉพาะการพัฒนาขีดความสามารถในการปฏิบัติการทางทะเลในพื้นที่ยุทธศาสตร์สำคัญอย่างทะเลจีนใต้ รวมถึงการส่งเสริมการขยายอิทธิพลทางทหารในระดับโลกผ่านการจัดตั้งฐานทัพในต่างประเทศและการสร้างความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคงกับประเทศพันธมิตร การปฏิรูปครั้งนี้จึงถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการวางรากฐานสำหรับการพัฒนาประเทศในระยะยาวและการเสริมสร้างอำนาจของจีนในเวทีโลก อันจะนำไปสู่การบรรลุเป้าหมายการเป็นมหาอำนาจชั้นนำของโลกภายในปี 2049 ตามวิสัยทัศน์ “ความฝันของจีน”

The intervention of third-party mediators is often critical in the resolution of intrastate armed conflicts. Their success hinges on such factors as the mediator’s skill and perceived impartiality, the support of the United Nations Security Council and clarity of their mandate, the timing of their interventions (the ‘ripeness’ concept) and the involvement of civil society. The purpose of this research will be to assess the effectiveness of third-party interventions in the Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, Libya, and Myanmar conflicts on the basis of these criteria. As a dominant economic powerhouse in Latin America, Brazil paradoxically exhibits profound socioeconomic divides and egregious rates of violence. This study seeks to illuminate the extent of the intricate relationship between Brazil's inherent inequalities and its propensity for violence by employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The study focuses on the years from 2002 to 2021, a period characterized by pivotal social, economic, and political transformations. Utilizing the United Nations definition of homicide as a primary measure of violence, I collected data from Brazilian health repositories for all 27 federative unit's annual reported number of homicides. The Russian Federation's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, has been marked by numerous documented atrocities, potentially falling under the categories of war crimes and crimes against humanity. This thesis aims to explore whether these apparent human rights and humanitarian law violations merit international prosecution. It also assesses the suitability and feasibility of various mechanisms, such as establishing national courts, "internationalized" or "hybrid" tribunals, or resorting to the International Criminal Court (ICC), drawing insights from past experiences in transitional and retributive justice.

In the developing world, countries are hit hardest and most frequently by the effects of climate change, such as severe floods, droughts, and desertification. Rape can be used to annihilate, control, and humiliate populations. Mass rape can have genocidal intent. Yet, thus far, the legal definition of genocide has failed to codify rape. These severe limitations in the definition of genocide create legal impunity and impede the rehabilitation of rape survivors. Financial inclusion is a critical means of empowering individuals to improve their own lives, and Uganda provides an excellent case study for examining various financial mechanisms in a developing country context. This thesis investigates four such mechanisms: formal banks, microfinance institutions, mobile money, and contribution clubs. The analysis is conducted using five criteria to evaluate their level of inclusion: (1) quantitative coverage, (2) standard of living, (3) gender, (4) education, and (5) social capital. Intelligence agencies have always suffered from internal inefficiencies. By nature, their opaqueness and deliberate ambiguity in what they bring to the table disincentivizes scrutiny or critique from other government entities and the general public. There is very little accountability to be had for intelligence agencies, even in Western liberal democracies: no amount of voting will change how they are structured or operated, and thus incentive to change usually does not arise from domestic pressures, but rather from large-scale failures. The industrialization of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Berlin and Vienna led both cities to initiate a social housing program to create affordable housing for the masses moving into the cities. The OPEC oil embargo of 1973 shocked global energy markets and forced the Atlantic Alliance to fragment and engage in continuous cut-throat bilateral deals with oil-producing countries. What started as oil-for-arms deals quickly transitioned into oil-for-nuclear reactor deals once countries struggled to find new ways to remain competitive in the trade market. An Equality Of Security. Bentham, Thompson, And The Principles Subsidiary To Utility, Mark J. Kaswan

In the “Principles of the Civil Code,” Jeremy Bentham identifies four “principles subsidiary to utility”: subsistence, abundance, equality, and security. Whereas these subsidiary principles form part of the bedrock of classical liberalism, in this essay I show that in the hands of his friend and disciple William Thompson, they are transformed into the foundations for socialism. Where Bentham prioritizes security over equality, and security of property takes a preeminent role, Thompson shows that the system of individual competition and private property—his way of describing capitalism—is best characterized by the “inequality of security.” Based on the labor theory of property, Thompson …

Little is known about the impact trade openness has on income inequality in developed nations. Researchers have demonstrated that income inequality and globalization largely benefit underdeveloped nations. However, there is little research that exists on developed countries such as the United States. The purpose of this quantitative study was to compare similarities between trade liberalization and income inequality among manufacturing workers in the automotive industry, specifically in the United States.
