Archivists at the McGovern Historical Center, recently published a guide to the audiovisual items found in the Hermann Hospital Historical Archive. Nearly 200 audio recordings, approximately 250 videos, and 46 reels of film are now described item-by-item and can be searched or browsed by title online.

Digital collections are collections that require more specialized level of care than physical collections because they require maintenance from both hardware and software. This study investigates the significance of knowledge transfer strategies within libraries, encompassing insights and expertise deeply ingrained in organizational strategy. This study aims to explore and evaluate key indicators of scientific behavior in the research domain concerning the intersection of open innovation and concepts of knowledge transfer in libraries. Through bibliometric and network analysis, the study seeks to unravel the joint scientific trajectory of these domains. This research uncovered three primary avenues: knowledge transfer within LIS research and journals, knowledge retention for outgoing employees, and knowledge transfer in information literacy programs. This study discusses the Policy Implementation of ANRI Regulation 6/2021 on The Archives Functions of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Ministry X RI by using the concept of policy implementation George C. Edward III, namely communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. This study concludes that implementing the ANRI 6/2021 regulation at the Secretariat of the Directorate General still needs to improve or is not optimal in every influencing factor. The presenters, archivists in an academic university Library, launched a web archiving program for a public university in the United States in 2018 with a three-year Archive-it contract. In the first six years of the web archiving program, we have laid the groundwork for an ongoing web archiving program through robust documentation built in anticipation of potential loss of resources, especially personnel. In this presentation, we report on a sustainability review of the program using a practical framework and a conceptual framework. Many of the challenges inherent in archiving dynamic web content revolve around the capture and playback of ever-evolving social media sites. However, older dynamic web content that has ceased to evolve continues to elude the tools and conventions most widely available to web archivists. This presentation will share work conducted to preserve an online digital humanities project that defied preservation via Archive-It and other crawler-based web archiving tools. The presentation will, moreover, offer an exploration of alternative options for web archivists struggling to preserve sites dependent on server-side processes for their essential functionality.

Collection surveys and collecting policies have become standard for effective archival collection management. But in recent years, surveys have most often been used to establish processing and preservation priorities and collecting policies are often considered static documents that, once established, change little as the collections grow. The Yellowstone National Park Archives, with a mandate to update its collecting policy and limited space and resources, developed a project to survey its collections in order to inform an updated policy. The Sherman Indian Museum houses a rich collection of archival materials that document the student experience, institutional culture, and community history of California’s sole remaining off-reservation American Indian boarding school. To broaden access to its collection for community and scholarly use, the museum partnered with the University of California, Riverside Library on a grant-funded project to digitize and provide online access to nearly 14,000 items from their collection. Cultural heritage resources are increasingly being produced and distributed digitally yet the world of physical materials has not declined. Can you realign current resources to meet future collection needs while at the same time continuing with existing collection needs? Analog-based archival theory and practice is still relevant, but born-digital formats make acquisition, appraisal, resource allocation, collection management, and external relationships much more challenging. In 1986, when IMSA first opened its doors to students, Plato, NovaNET, MacIntosh Plus and the Dat. Lab, even track paper all played an essential role in connecting IMSA to the emerging digital world. IMSA’s library, for example, boasted digital technology on par with the Ivy League university libraries. Like the rest of the world, IMSA has continued to expand and update its use of digital technologies, and as we move towards AI, this exhibit celebrates computing in our early days.

Open access publishing is continuing to grow as funders such as cOAlition S, National Institutes of Health, and the White House implement mandates and requirements that publicly funded research be made immediately available for public consumption. Publishers have adopted open access as a business model through transformative agreements that combine subscription and publishing fees. However, it is unclear whether these agreements are beneficial for libraries. This article discusses a project by the University of Kentucky Libraries to gather and analyze open access publication data to aid in the evaluation of transformative agreement proposals. Digitizing Medical Illustrations From The Heart Bulletin + The Role Of Art In The Medical Field, Johana Canales

The Houston-based Medical Arts Publishing Foundation produced illustrated medical publications like the Cancer Bulletin, Heart Bulletin, and Psychiatric Bulletin. The Foundation’s records began arriving at the McGovern Historical Center in 1992. Since then, some of the collection’s medical illustrations had already been digitized, including several complete issues of the Psychiatric Bulletin from 1950-1960 and the Heart Bulletin’s medical illustrations series from 1951 and 1964.
