Undergraduates’ Digital Literacy And Access To Information In Nigerian University Libraries: Does Subject Background Make A Difference?, Harriet Uche Igbo

The study attempted to find out whether undergraduates’ subject background has influence on their application of digital literacy skills in accessing digital information for educational problem solving.The design of the Ex- Post Facto survey was used for the study. A37- item Questionnaire was used to collect data from a sample of 1506, which represented 5% of 30,121 undergraduates of seven federal universities in southern Nigeria, which were purposely selected for the study. The major finding of the study showed that subject background had strong influence and makes the difference in undergraduates’ ability to use digital literacy skills in accessing information. …

This study explored political information behavior of citizens residing in a rural setting from the district of Toba Tek Singh, Punjab-Pakistan. Qualitative research design using an unstructured interview guide was employed to conduct this research. Face-to-face interviews of 51 participants, selected through purposive sampling process, were conducted for data collection by visiting their homes using local language. The present study assessed the utilization of electronic resources by the faculty members, research scholars,and UG, PG students of the central library of north Bengal university. Out of hundred, ninety respondent’s data condidered as sample for analysis.The study reveals that 41.11% of patrons of North Bengal university utilizing the electronic resource. This evaluative study analyses the authorship and collaborative research activity in Indian Journal of Anaesthesia for the period of 2010-2019.The collected data are examined with the help of Collaboration Coefficient, Authorship Pattern and Activity Index. This paper examined mentoring of librarians for capacity building in private universities in Nigeria. The survey research method was used with questionnaire formulated in line with the research questions put forward. The total enumeration method was used to select librarians and library officers in selected private universities in South-West Nigeria. Data was analyzed using frequency count and statistical mean. Findings revealed that the most prevalent strategy for mentoring practiced in libraries in private universities was senior professionals sharing their wealth of knowledge with younger ones (97.2%). The present study investigates authorship trends and productivity among LIS professionals who contributed journal articles in the selected 12 peer reviewed LIS journals of India, US and UK. For the purpose of the study four periodicals from each country are chosen during the period 2007 to 2017. Although Buddhism is the fourth largest religion of the world with almost 500 million followers, to the best of our knowledge, academic literature lacks a bibliometric study investigating Buddhism documents. We used four databases provided by Web of Science; Thomson Reuters to extract the academic documents related to Buddhism and included all items published between 1975 and 2017. Introduction: The college library is established to support academic activities including education, research and public services. Then particular services are needed for particular users related to the learning process with the availability of user education. User education acts as literacy of information to users in mastering accessing and evaluating sources of information needed.
