Statement of the Problem:

The problem in this study was to determine if a relationship exists between high urea nitrogen retention and a high arterial diastolic blood pressure or diseases that are usually associated with a high arterial diastolic blood pressure.

Method of Study:

The descriptive survey method was used. Data for this study were obtained by reviewing charts of all patients whose NPN was 150 mg. percent or over or whose BUN was 100 mg. percent or over. During the specified two year period the White Memorial Clinical Laboratory records revealed thirty-five patients as falling into this category.

The purpose of this survey was to ascertain factors which influence job satisfaction among the head nurse and staff nurse groups in a selected denominational hospital.

For this study the normative survey approach was used as the method of research. The SRA Employee Inventory put out by Science Research Associates, Inc., in connection with the Industrial Relations Center of the University of Chicago was the tool of research used to collect the data. The Bella Vista Hospital has had problems of staffing since it opened. Nurse shortages have been typical of all insular hospitals. There have been no national Seventh-day Adventist nurses available and no school where they could receive nursing education. The question has been raised whether it would be feasible to establish a school of nursing in connection with the hospital. This would give opportunity for Seventh-day Adventist young people who seek nursing education and would help prepare nurses to staff the hospital.

This study was conducted to find out if Paradise Valley School of Nursing is meeting certain specified objectives and to gather information which could help in future curriculum planning to better meet the needs of the students.

The normative-survey was the method used to gather data from graduates of the 1950-1957 classes. This group comprised those graduating from the three-year diploma program. A questionnaire was mailed to 149 graduates of which 124 responded.

Statement of the Problem: the purpose of this study was to find out the current faculty-student ratio in the medical-surgical area in collegiate school of nursing which were fully accredited by the National League for Nursing and the number of students with which instructors felt comfortable in their clinical instructions.

It was hoped that the evaluation form could be used by administrators of nursing service as a basis for giving pay increases based on nursing performance.

Literature was reviewed to find concepts of safety and to aid in classification of safety hazards which are applicable to hospital patient safety. In this study a survey was made of the attitudes of Indonesian Seventh-day Adventists toward nursing. This was done for the purpose of discovering why there is a shortage of women applicants to the Seventh-day Adventist nursing school in Bandung, Java. The study was accomplished through the use of questionnaires administered to four selected groups in two geographic areas of Indonesia, and revealed attitudes of two adult groups and two student group.
