The emergence of artemisinin resistance leaded the effort to find the new antimalarial drug or artemisinin activity booster. Due to the chance that secondary metabolites can be evolutionary conserved, combining phylogeny with ethnobotanical data for screening antimalarial activity may be helpful to predict bioactivity and minimize the expenditure and time for laboratory research. Background: Globally, major depressive is the primary cause of disability. A large part of cases is reported among the working-class. Literature reviews suggest that the disorder is tied in with immune dysregulation and inflammatory response. The genus Derris belonging to Fabaceae family are distributed along the equatorial zone in Africa and Asia. In Thailand, 16 species of Derris species can be found throughout the country. Derris elliptica (Hanglai-Dang), is well-known among fishermen and gardeners as fish poison and insecticide, especially the stem and root which contain isoflavonoid compound named rotenone. This study established the pharmacognostic specification of Derris elliptica dried stem crude drug and developed the quantitative analysis of rotenone content in D. elliptica stem using TLC-densitometry and image analysis. Dental caries are common oral diseases in schoolchildren. This retrospective cohort analysis was done to assess caries prevalence, risk and protective factors associated permanent caries among 433 children profiles of school children in selected primary school in Bangkok who received or did not receive a preventive program. Additionally, a cost effectiveness of the program was analyzed. Result revealed that there was high caries prevalence in deciduous teeth (1st grade) 87.2% and mean dmft 6.44 (± 4.4) and caries prevalence in permanent teeth (6th grade) 51.7% and mean DMFT 1.37 (± 1.84). Purpose: To compare tensile bond strength among the hybrid materials (VITA ENAMIC®, SHOFU Block HC, Katana AVENCIA and Experimental material) using two primers (Universal ceramic primer and RelyX ceramic primer) and two resin cements (Super-Bond C&B and RelyXTM U200). The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between chewing efficacy and severity level of cognitive impairment in dementia patients using a smartphone with ViewGum software for chewing efficiency analysis. Participants (n=70) from the Dementia Clinic, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, included 38 dementia patients (76.1±9.0 years) and 32 patients (71.8±9.9Years) with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), diagnosed by the medical specialists. Radiotherapy’s effectiveness in suppressing HNC growth is correlated with an increase in free radicals that produce DNA damage to the tumor and neighboring organs like the SG. Human dental pulp cells (hDPCs) have shown their plasticity to differentiate into odontoblast-like cell lineages under the treatment of two-members of hydroxamates HDAC inhibitors (HDACis), Trichostatin A (TSA) and Suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA). However, a comparison of the potency for stimulating odontoblast-like differentiation and mineralization process among these two HDACis has not been reported. Quality of bone is an important factor contributing to the success of dental implants. The bone height in maxillary posterior area sometimes is not enough and might pose risks for placing dental implants. Maxillary sinus augmentation with bone substitutes is used for filling and correcting bony defects. This study aims to determine the differences in gene expressions of TNF-alpha, RUNX2, COL1A1, ALP between xenograft (Bio-Oss®) and allograft (SureOss®). Patients who needed two-stage maxillary sinus floor augmentation were included (n=13). Purpose. To evaluate the marginal sealing ability of different restorative materials used in deep margin elevation (DME) on zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate CAD/CAM ceramic restoration. Methods. A total of 30 Class II cavities were prepared in freshly extracted human molars with the proximal gingival margin located 1 mm below the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ). All specimens were randomly assigned to one of three groups (n=10): control group, resin composite group (FiltekTM Z350 XT), and resin-modified glass ionomer group (VitremerTM Tricure). MSCs exert their immunomodulatory effects on various immune cells by cell-cell contact and cytokines secretion. Our previous study has demonstrated that supracrestal gingival connective tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (SG-MSCs) were recognized to be a good candidate for periodontal regeneration. SG-MSCs showed the similar potential to PDL-MSCs and held significant advantage over PDL-MSCs by which a tooth extraction is not required. Radiotherapy is the standard treatment of head and neck cancer (HNC). The radiation may affect on normal tissue and surrounding salivary gland resulting to xerostomia. Treatment of radiation-related xerostomia focuses on relieving symptoms by using saliva substitutes or saliva stimulants. Because the salivary stimulants have significant side effects, such as sweating, dizziness or increasing urge to urinate, saliva substitutes are preferable. Trehalose solution has been suggested for improve moisture in dry mouth condition and can be used as saliva substitute.
