This Article suggests some concrete ways to teach civility— one component of professionalism—to law students. Professionalism certainly includes much more than civility, incorporating the concepts of ethics, morals, public service, life-long learning, personal integrity, professional identity, and a commitment to selfdevelopment. This Article begins with a brief overview of civility in Part I. Part II provides a few of the many arguments for why we should teach law students to be civil. For developing countries, a commitment to minimal IP rights protection will determine inclusion in the World Trade Organization (WTO), facilitate access to foreign-direct investment, and accelerate economic development. This paper provides an overview of a 5-stage program of work conducted over a three-year period that aims to develop a General Aviation (GA) safety database in Australia using data collected by aviation insurers. The need to standardize and enhance insurance data was recognized to support meaningful safety-based countermeasure development. Incorporating the Human Factors Analysis and Classification Scheme into the insurance assessment process is a major feature of the data enhancement process. Data collection by GA insurance assessors in Australia, using standardized and enhanced data collection methods, will begin in late 2007. Establishment of this database will allow for meaningful …

Olympic Airways (O.A.), the former Greek flag carrier, was nationalized in 1975. For the period 1975-1994 its cumulative deficits had mounted to 455 billion GRD, (1.63 billion US$). However, at the same time all governments enforced on O.A. the implementation of their various policies, always at the company’s expense. The state debts to O.A.- due to the aforementioned reason were in 1993 (E.U. involvement) almost three times higher than O.A.’s operational deficits. These state debts have not been permitted to O.A. to register in their accounting books. Since 1993 the Greek state, O.A.’s exclusive shareholder, has attempted to introduce changes …

Retrocyclin Rc-101 Overcomes Cationic Mutations On The Heptad Repeat 2 Of Hiv-1 Gp41, Christopher Fuhrman

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Retrocyclin RC-101, a θ-defensin with lectin-like properties, potently inhibits infection by many HIV-1 subtypes by binding to the heptad repeat (HR)-2 region of gp41 and preventing six-helix bundle formation. In the present study, we used in silico computational exploration to identify residues of HR2 that interacted with RC-101 and then analyzed the HIV-1 Sequence Database at LANL for residue variations in the HR1 and HR2 segments that could plausibly impart in vivo resistance. Docking RC-101 to gp41 peptides in silico confirmed its strong preference for HR2 over HR1, and implicated residues crucial for its ability to bind HR2. We mutagenized …

This essay traces the evolution of themed environment design from theme parks to a series of new architectural types – Urban Entertainment Destinations, Lifestyle Enhancement Centers, and Lifestyle Villages – as a chronicle of spatial mediation from urban décor to urban design technique. Culled partly through semiotic deconstruction and partly through ethnographic investigation, this history examines the environmental design techniques employed in these spaces in order to better understand the relationship of design practice to the cultural practices of work and leisure.

Any individuals cycle, competitively or recreationally, for enjoyment or to increase fitness. Although cycling can increase overall cardiovascular fitness while imposing minimal stress on the lower extremity joints, cycling for an extended period of time may render an individual susceptible to undesirable conditions, including tendonitis, bursitis, nerve pathology, impotence, and more commonly, saddle (seat) soreness. Saddle sores usually present as skin lesions of the inner groin and inguinal fold, which are commonly classified into three categories on the basis of severity: (a) chafing, (b) skin ulcerations, and (c) furuncles and folliculitis. ฟันคุดในฟันกรามแท้ล่างซี่ที่สองพบได้ไม่บ่อยแต่เมื่อตรวจพบมักมีปัญหายุ่งยากในการรักษาซึ่งสิ่งสําคัญคือการวินิจฉัยและการรักษาให้เร็วที่สุดเท่าที่จะทําได้ เพราะการรักษาในระยะที่ช้าเกินไปมักจะมีความยุ่งยากจากการ สบฟันที่ผิดปกติทําให้ต้องใช้เวลานานในการรักษา ทั้งยังอาจทําให้ฟันที่เหลืออยู่มีประสิทธิภาพในการบดเคี้ยวลดลงรายงานนี้กล่าวถึงผู้ป่วยหนึ่งรายที่มีฟันคุดในฟันกรามแท้ล่างซ้ายซี่ที่สองซึ่งได้รับการรักษาโดยการผ่าตัดนําฟันคุดออกเพื่อให้ฟันกรามแท้ล่างที่สามขึ้นมาแทนที่และได้ผลเป็นที่น่าพอใจ (2 ทันต จุฬาฯ 2550;30:51-60)

ฟันผุแอบแฝงบนด้านบดเคี้ยวของฟันกรามแท้ใช้อธิบายถึงฟันผุที่พบในชั้นเนื้อฟันซึ่งด้านบดเคี้ยวถูก วินิจฉัยทางคลินิกว่าไม่เป็นฟันผุหรือมีรอยผุปริมาณน้อย ๆ เนื่องจากด้านบดเคี้ยวของฟันมีลักษณะผุเพียงเล็กน้อยไม่เป็นโพรงฟัน หรือมีเพียงการสูญเสียแร่ธาตุเพียงเล็กน้อยบนผิวเคลือบฟัน แต่สามารถตรวจพบเงาดําภายใน ชั้นเนื้อฟันจากภาพรังสีไบท์วิ่ง รายงานฉบับนี้ได้ตรวจพบฟันผุแอบแฝงในผู้ป่วย 2 ราย ที่การตรวจช่องปากทาง แต่มีรอยผุขนาดใหญ่ซึ่งตรวจพบได้จากภาพรังสีไบท์วิ่ง และการรักษารอยโรคเหล่านั้นอย่างเหมาะสม โดยรอยโรคไม่ลุกลามจนเป็นอันตรายต่อโพรงในฟัน ซึ่งทําให้คลินิกพบรอยยุบนด้านบดเคี้ยวของฟันเพียงเล็กน้อยสามารถป้องกันการสูญเสียฟันและไม่ต้องมีการรักษาที่มีค่าใช้จ่ายสูงขึ้น (ว ทันต จุฬาฯ 2550;30:61-72)

The equivalency of 34 TIMIT sentence lists was evaluated using adult cochlear implant recipients to determine if they should be recommended for future clinical or research use. Because these sentences incorporate gender, dialect and speaking rate variations, they have the potential to better represent speech recognition abilities in real-world communication situations.
