5-Bit Dual-Slope Analog-To-Digital Converter-Based Time-To-Digital Converter Chip Design In Cmos Technology, Jojoe S. Sagoe Nov 2019

5-Bit Dual-Slope Analog-To-Digital Converter-Based Time-To-Digital Converter Chip Design In Cmos Technology, Jojoe S. Sagoe

LSU Master's Theses

Time-to-Digital Converters (TDC) have gained increasing importance in modern implementations of mixed-signal, data-acquisition and processing interfaces and are used to perform high precision time intervals in systems that incorporate Time-of-Flight (ToF) or Time-of-Arrival (ToA) measurements. The linearity of TDCs is very crucial since most Digital Signal Processing (DSP) systems require very linear inputs to achieve high accuracy.

In this work, a TDC has been designed in the 0.5 μm n-well CMOS process that can be used for on-chip integration and in applications requiring high linearity. This TDC used a Dual-Slope-ADC-based architecture for the time-to-digital conversion and consists of the following …

A Comparison Of Contextual Bandit Approaches To Human-In-The-Loop Robot Task Completion With Infrequent Feedback, Matt Mcneill, Damian Lyons

Faculty Publications

Artificially intelligent assistive agents are playing an increased role in our work and homes. In contrast with currently predominant conversational agents, whose intelligence derives from dialogue trees and external modules, a fully autonomous domestic or workplace robot must carry out more complex reasoning. Such a robot must make good decisions as soon as possible, learn from experience, respond to feedback, and rely on feedback only as much as necessary. In this research, we narrow the focus of a hypothetical robot assistant to a room tidying task in a simulated domestic environment. Given an item, the robot chooses where to put …

Method Of Calculation Of Self-Stressed Concrete Slabs Supported Along The Contour, S.S. Salixanov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

The paper presents the developed method for calculating the contour-supported slab of self-stressed concrete. Reinforced concrete slab on the tension cement replaces the traditional construction of the bridge. In this article, in order to exclude reinforcement, the problem of determining the stress-strain state of self-stressed concrete slabs supported along the contour is considered. The values of stresses in the upper and lower faces of the concrete slab, as well as the bending moment in the middle section of the slab

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

Based on the data of field surveys, the results of assessing the state of reinforced concrete span structures of bridges and characteristic defects that occur in the structure during operation are presented. An analysis of the results of inspections and periodic inspections responsible for the operation of artificial structures shows that a significant part of reinforced concrete spans has various types of defects and damage to load-bearing structures. Studies show that defects have a significant impact on the operational properties of reinforced concrete spans, leading both to a limitation of the speed regime of train movements and to the emergence …

Investigated The Strength Of Rolling Stock As A Fuzzy Function, M.L. Waail, R.V. Rahimov Nov 2019

Investigated The Strength Of Rolling Stock As A Fuzzy Function, M.L. Waail, R.V. Rahimov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

In this paper we use Fuzzy Set Theory to solve one of the essential problems in Railway Engineering: estimate the strength of rolling stock. As known, the strength of, any, rolling stock depends upon several factors that cannot determine them accurately. Therefore, we can consider them as fuzzy factors. The strength of any rolling stock can be changed depending on its operating conditions and the intensive of operation, that can consider as fuzzy factors too. A new proposal method developed depending on Fuzzy Set Theory to estimate the strength of mobile equipment or to compare between several rolling stocks for …

Mathematical Models Of Differential Magnetic Circuits Of Converters With Movable Screens And Distributed Parameters, S.F. Amirov, O.T. Boltayev

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

In the article the mathematical models of differential magnetic transducers with movable electromagnetic screens and with distributed parameters, taking into account the magnetic flux scattering, are developed. To develop a mathematical model of the transducer, the distribution expression of magnetic fluxes before the moving and after the moving parts are obtained using the method of magnetic circuit dismemberment, and the resulting magnetic flux is determined by the overlay method. The developed mathematical models showed that the discrepancy between experimental and theoretical results does not exceed 8-11%.

Choice Of Basic Parameters, Calculation And Design Of Pulse Magnetizing Devices, J.F. Kurbanov Nov 2019

Choice Of Basic Parameters, Calculation And Design Of Pulse Magnetizing Devices, J.F. Kurbanov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

The purpose of this work is to develop methods and devices degaussing rail lashes. Magnetization in railway transport plays an important role for the safety of train traffic. Therefore, it is necessary to develop methods and devices for the demagnetization of products in railway automation and remote control, which is an urgent task. The residual magnetization leads to swelling of the welded joints of the rails, which leads to the formation of cracks, which can lead to train accidents during their movement. During the operation of the railways, magnetization also occurs due to the rotation of the wheel sets and …

Issues Of Regulation Of Train Locomotives Of The Railway Section Chukursay-Saryagash, M.N. Masharipov, Sh.M. Suyunbaev, M.M. Rasulmukhamedov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

The successive arrival of freight trains to the station performing border control of trains leads to a glut of adjacent sections by trains, mainly due to the employment of border guard brigades. Without the use of operational solutions in such conditions, the reserve of bandwidth is reduced and the need for locomotives is increased due to hot downtimes when the train station is not accepted for border control. This article has developed a methodology for regulating train locomotives, which allows to increase the useful work of train locomotives. The developed methodology will assist engineers and technicians in the connection of …

The Method Of Calculating The Middle Simple Locomotive And The Train Composition In The Turnover Point Based On The Modeling In The Conditions Of A Pair Traffic Of Trains, M.N. Masharipov Nov 2019

The Method Of Calculating The Middle Simple Locomotive And The Train Composition In The Turnover Point Based On The Modeling In The Conditions Of A Pair Traffic Of Trains, M.N. Masharipov

Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers

The article developed a method for calculating the average downtime of a locomotive and the composition of a train at a turnaround point based on modeling in a pair train schedule. As a result of this, it is scientifically substantiated that strict adherence to the principle “trains do not expect a locomotive” will lead to a significant increase in the cost of locomotive hours at the point of turnover
