The Stuff Of Which Peace Is Made, A. J. Foy Cross
All Faculty Scholarship for the College of Education and Professional Studies
This isn't a discussion of whether we spend too much or too little for education. The true American patriot would spend his last dollar to insure our democracy as our way of life. Through armed force we have reffirmed our right to live in a democratic society, but only through exended public education can we be assured that our people will continue to want to live in a democracy and that thev will know how to live in the American way. America for these reasons can afford free public education at any cost. This is, rather than a discussion of …

A Critical Analysis Of Report Cards Used In New Mexico, John Robert Grove
Teacher Education, Educational Leadership & Policy ETDs
Many of the ties that used to bind the home and school are gone. The home and the school no longer have the feeling of intimacy that prevailed between them two hundred years ago. In the early American schools it was possible for the teacher to know the parents of nearly every child in the school room. Since this possibility no longer exists in the same degree, some link must be evolved to connect both the home and the school; some method to take the place of meetings on the street or conversations after prayer meeting must be organized to …

If the interest manifested by all school people who had a part in the preparation of this study can be used as a measure, then both an interest and a need are felt.
