Without understanding the implications of chief executive officer (CEO) compensation packages and share price volatility (SPV), midstream oil and gas company boards of directors could make decisions that might not positively impact shareholders' wealth building. Underpinned by agency theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationship between CEO compensation, SPV, and return on equity (ROE) in midstream oil and gas companies operating in the United States. Archival records and secondary data were collected from 64 midstream oil and gas companies operating in the United States using Security and Exchange Commission EDGAR, Standard and Poor’s 1500, …

Sex Offenders’ Risk Assessment Process And Effects On Jurisdiction Transitioning, Lonnie Keith Grabowska
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
AbstractThe Adam Walsh Act created sex offender notification and registration requirements to encourage state compliance toward federal guidelines and assigned threat levels to registered sex offenders using mandated assessment processes. Researchers have pointed out that the transition by states using tiered assessment processes to the federally mandated guidelines has led to operational changes to state registration procedures. The purpose of this quantitative study was to understand the effects and impacts on jurisdictions transitioning the designation of registered sex offenders’ threat assessment levels from a formal risk-based assessment process to the mandated Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act conviction-based assessment tool …

Strategies For Improving Supply Chain Management In United Nations Peacekeeping Missions, Mirjana Mazar
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Managers of the United Nation’s humanitarian operations are under rigid pressure to deliver their programs efficiently due to 75% of supply chains experiencing disruptions, accounting for 60 to 80% of the expenses due to limited funding and increasing scrutiny by member states. Humanitarian operations are inextricably linked to the performance of a supply chain. Therefore, if the supply chain managers in the United Nations (UN) fail to understand and adopt dynamic capabilities, they can experience operational underperformance, affecting trust from financial supporters. Relationship Between An Entrepreneur’S Self-Efficacy, Self-Leadership, And Startup Sustainability In Nigeria, Juliet Ehimuan
Relationship Between An Entrepreneur’S Self-Efficacy, Self-Leadership, And Startup Sustainability In Nigeria, Juliet Ehimuan
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Self-efficacy and self-leadership have been identified as important indicators of business sustainability. Business owners and investors are concerned about sustainability because most businesses fail within the first five years. Grounded in self-efficacy and self-leadership theories, the purpose of this quantitative correlation study was to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy, self-leadership and startup sustainability. The participants were 156 entrepreneurs who completed the entrepreneurial self-efficacy scale and the abbreviated self-leadership questionnaire delivered via email. The multiple linear regression analysis results indicated the model was able to significantly predict startup sustainability, F(2, 129) = 432.47, p < .001, R2 = .87. Self-efficacy provided a significant contribution to the model (t = 8.424, p = < .001, β = .914). In contrast, the contribution of self-leadership was not significant (t = 0.185, p = .853, β = .20). A key recommendation is the utilization of mentoring programs and structured leadership internships that enhance self-efficacy by providing startup leaders with exposure to more seasoned corporate leaders, and successful peers who have had similar experiences to theirs. The implications for positive social change include the potential development of training and capacity-building programs that can be provided to entrepreneurs and other startup leaders to enhance their ability to sustain their startups, leading to more successful businesses, job creation, and economic growth.

Medical Imaging Professionals Experiencing Workplace Interprofessional Conflict: A Phenomenological Study, Robert Carroll Moody
Department of Conflict Resolution Studies Theses and Dissertations
Workplace interprofessional conflict in hospitals presented serious concerns regardingpatient care delivery and hospital efficiency at the systemic level. Literature evaluating conflict in hospitals inconsistently defined interprofessional conflict and oversampled nurses and physicians in research studies. An unknown systemic factor was likely influencing interprofessional conflict between healthcare professionals. Medical imaging professionals were selected as a purposeful sample within the larger population of allied health. Interpretive phenomenology was used …

When Speaking Up Fails: Experiences Of Unsubstantiated Equal Employment Opportunity Allegations On The Workforce, Scottie Visser
Department of Conflict Resolution Studies Theses and Dissertations
Many organizations have long encouraged employees to speak up about wrongdoing, promoting cultures of open communication to ensure just environments; however, each year a significant proportion of workplace allegations are deemed unsubstantiated as a result of various factors, such as lack of evidence, subjectivity, false claims, and investigative limitations. Because researchers have focused on substantiated claims and reasons for reporting, they have discovered little about either the experiences of employees who speak up and have their claims deemed unsubstantiated or the potential impacts of such outcomes. This interpretative phenomenological study involved exploration of the lived experiences of 10 employees who …

However, the historical constructs of stigma, discrimination, inequity, exclusion, and structural racism in mental healthcare were prevalent problems that remained present in virtual mental health platforms concerning the experiences of African-American patients and professionals who utilized the spaces.
This research explored mental health …
