As professional fraud examiners, investigators, prosecutors and regulators, security leaders can all appreciate that white-collar crime is not subsiding. While it is committed in professional or business settings involving financial deception or manipulation, it continues to grow and pose significant challenges to society. To effectively combat and mitigate this type of crime, it is crucial to delve deeper into the key factors of white-collar crime.

Can Investor Communications Discipline Corporate Misconduct? Evidence From A Field Experiment, Chen Xu

Corporate misconduct encompasses deceptive or fraudulent activities carried out by company members. Such misconduct can distort the accuracy of firm valuations and mislead investors. Researchers and regulators have worked diligently to understand the factors driving corporate misconduct and devise strategies to reduce its prevalence. However, causal evidence remains limited. In this study, we conduct a field experiment to address this issue and investigate potential methods for mitigating corporate misconduct. Recent studies have emphasized the role of investor communications in governance, as they improve transparency and decrease information asymmetry between managers and investors. Despite the inherent goal heterogeneity stemming from individual, departmental, organizational, and initiative levels, research conceptualizes goals as unitary within the team. The purpose of this conceptual manuscript is to advance a new integrated model: the Narrative Identity (NI), and Liminality Model (NILM). The NILM advances narrative as an intervention tool for Black gendered scholar-athletes (BGSAs) by integrating NI theory (Adler et al., 2017) with the Community Cultural Wealth (CCW) model (Yosso, 2005) for positive outcomes intra-intercollegiate career. Diffusion of smartphone technology has created multiple opportunities for economic development. This research investigated the use of smartphones in financial management among women’s informal saving groups in Dodoma, Tanzania. Qualitative data were collected from 10 groups, derived from 15 interviews and 3 focus group discussions (FGDs) with 22 participants and thematic analysis was done. The findings revealed that research participants were using smartphones to access WhatsApp, the camera, mobile money applications and the calculator for coordination, recording, calculation, and payment. Existing literature on university brand loyalty (UBL) has less focused on a marketing-oriented perspective, or relationship marketing, and its impact on testing UBL. The aim of this study is to identity the roles and impacts of trust and commitment, which are main factors that create a relationship, in the relationship between university service quality, student satisfaction (SAT), and UBL and discuss its implications for university approaches of the marketing-oriented perspective. Listening to podcasts is a popular way adults learn outside of formal school settings. Examining podcast listening through the lens of informal learning is an important and underexplored area of inquiry. This is especially important considering the growth of the adult population in the United States and the new opportunities for learning and recreation. In this research, we interviewed 31 adult podcast listeners from across the United States about their experiences listening to and learning from podcasts. The Reece Museum has received $65,000 in grant funding from the Henry Luce Foundation to support “The Sammie L. Nicely Collection: Black Appalachian & African American Art Project.” Named for artist Sammie L. Nicely, this growing collection of post-modern and contemporary art explores Black imagery and themes, representing a variety of media and forms.

The museum received 50 artworks from Nicely’s personal collection in 2021 and since then has been actively collecting additional pieces that support Nicely’s legacy as an artist and educator, advancing cultural awareness and promoting the arts in his native region.
