An Examination Of How Environmental, Social, Governance (Esg) Investing Influences A Company's Stock Return, Sam Marty
Undergraduate Honors Thesis Projects
Using a random sample of 184 companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 2019, this paper investigates the impact of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) investing on a company’s stock return. The results show that ESG investing has a positive and statistically significant impact on a company’s stock return. An increase in one ESG rating leads to an increase between 0.4% and 3.6% in the return of a company’s stock. Additionally, the results show that individual ESG factors are each statistically insignificant. This indicates that the three ESG factors need to be viewed together rather than individually. Text Messaging Between School Counselors And Students: An Exploratory Study, Nicholas R. Gilly

This exploratory case study examines the impact of text messaging on mentoring relationships when used as an outreach between school counselors and high school students, where established relationships are lacking. An SMS gateway was used to mediate communication between school counselors (N=2) and students (N=5) over a three-month timeframe. The SMS gateway converted email, sent from counselors, to text messages, which were received on mobile devices of students and allowed students to respond back to counselors. Millennial Students’ Awareness Of Retirement Issues, Their Retirement Preparedness And Future Expectations, Krzysztof P. Bryniuk
Millennial Students’ Awareness Of Retirement Issues, Their Retirement Preparedness And Future Expectations, Krzysztof P. Bryniuk
Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
Sandwiched between the "Gen-Xers" and the "Baby Boomers," the Millennials are now the largest generation in the workforce. They also have a (mostly undeserved) reputation of being pampered, over-protected, lazy, spoiled, failures. Millennials often shun grownup responsibilities for which the term "adulting" was coined. Primary adulting responsibility is planning for retirement. This study addressed that issue and had its origins in the author's practice as an Accountant and Income Tax Preparer, as well as his profession as a Business and Accounting Professor/Instructor at various colleges and universities.
It became apparent to the researcher that clients and students, particularly those in …

Individual It Uses And Their Antecedents: A Social Theory Perspective, Jason Williams
Individual It Uses And Their Antecedents: A Social Theory Perspective, Jason Williams
PhD in Business Administration Dissertations
The use of information technology (IT) is foundational to modern work systems. However, the IT use construct is not fully understood and has not been clearly defined. Confounding the understanding of IT use are similar, yet often conflicting, conceptualizations, indicative of the jangle fallacy. The jingle fallacy is also found in the inconsistent measures employed to study the IT use construct. Consequently, the existing literature does show that there are multiple forms of use. Further, adoptive IT use has long been understood to be fundamentally different from post-adoptive IT use, but few theories have sought to bring these two concepts …

However, empirical studies have shown mixed results for the influence of UPI on system use.
This study explores the extent to which shared mental model (SMM) of a project team influences the impact of UPI on …

The Effects Of Product Recalls On Competitors’ Market Value And Recalling Firm’S Reputation, Dong Liu

Scholars have paid intensive attention to product recalls over the past two decades. Prior studies show that product recalls negatively affect the recalling firm’s sales, consumer-based brand equity, and firm value. The objective of this dissertation is to fill up these research gaps through two essays.
In Essay 1, I investigate factors affecting the spillover effect of a product recall on the firm value …

Early hip-hop beats took samples of drum breaks or a portion of a track from another artist or band. As hip-hop grew in the late 80s and early 90s, the use of samples became a question of intellectual property rights and if it was acceptable to sample someone’s copyrighted work.
