An Analysis Of Air Force Acquisition Engineering Officer's Perceptions Of The Adequacy Of Their Preparation For Management, Steven E. Woodruff

The purpose of this study was to determine how much time Air Force acquisition engineers spend in performing management functions, how those engineers spend in performing management functions, how those engineers perceive their management training, and which types of training contribute the most to managerial competency. The results from surveys of 215 acquisition engineers assigned to ASCEN, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH and their supervisors revealed that engineers do indeed spend substantial amounts of time performing management functions. Eldercare Benefits : A Comparison Of Employee And Employer Attitudes, Michelle R. Hilton

The purpose of the study was to compare employee and employer attitudes regarding the helpfulness of eldercare benefits and the degree to which employers should take responsibility for helping employees with eldercare responsibilities. Subjects included 256 employees and 102 employers from Eastern South Dakota. Results revealed a significant difference between employee and employer attitudes regarding the eldercare benefits considered most beneficial. Employees reported a greater degree of helpfulness in benefits than employers. The results also demonstrated a significant difference between employers and employees on the degree to which employers should take responsibility for employee's eldercare commitments.

In March 1993, the JLSC selected the Navys Statistical Demand Forecasting System as the standard DOD forecasting system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the performance and accuracy of the Navy Statistical Demand Forecasting system, relative to the Air Force Requirements Data Bank forecasting system in an Air Force environment. To compare the performance of each forecasting system, the research used three different approaches. The first approach looked at time series components and evaluated how each forecasting system reacted to different data patterns. The purpose of this study was to investigate issues relevant to divorced displaced homemakers and to measure the effects of a career counseling seminar (Seminar for Success) on levels of self-efficacy. The design was Quasi-experimental pretest-post test with a nonequivalent control group. Chemicals emitted into the atmosphere which contain chlorine have been identified as ozone-depleting compounds for several years. These chemicals generally described as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and chlorinated solvents, are used in a wide variety of applications. International agreements and government regulations in the United States are mandating a ban, and requiring industries to seek CFC and chlorinated solvent replacements. The substitutes which are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), contain less or no chlorine, and hence, are less damaging to the earth's ozone layer.

In most cases this does not refer to an error in piloting skills, but rather an error in judgment or inept use of resources available to the pilot.
