Reflectance spectroscopy was used to study the cyanotype printing process. Originally this process was used to make photocopies of building designs, but today it is used for art. The cyanotype process is a photo catalyzed oxidation-reduction reaction. This study altered the concentrations and reagents involved in the printing process, and it included the use of ammonium ferricyanide and ammonium iron(III) oxalate along with the traditional potassium ferricyanide and ammonium iron(III) citrate. The impact of these changes on the rate of formation of Prussian blue was observed and quantified. Rate laws and general trends were determined for the reagents involved. Qualitative …

Imagined Sceneries is a work written by composer Dr. Koji Nakano of Burapha University, Thailand for two sopranos, koto, light percussion, narrations, soundscapes recorded in Kyoto, Japan in December 2015, and digital projections of Ebina Masao’s 1953 print series Tale of Genji. Imagined Sceneries’ reimagining and “re-sounding” of Heian Kyoto relies on a balance between what is imagined and what is experienced in performance. Its many elements collectively explore multiple layers of Japanese histories, soundscapes, environments, and sensibilities. Using Michel de Certeau’s concepts of the city, this thesis journeys through Nakano’s imagined spaces.

Steel Samba is a photographic mosaic exploration of four lift bridges connecting the east and west sides of Joliet, Illinois. Using the artist influence of Claude Monet’s 1872 image Le Pont de bois (the wooden bridge), I have created digital images of these bridges from many different views. The purpose of this series is to focus on these bridges: their history; their beauty; and how they move in sync to raise for waterway traffic almost in a dance formation.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of memory color on color perception of natural objects under different illuminations. A series of experiments were carried out and launched on the Internet through a website (https://memorycolor.net). Seventy-eight observers participated in the experiments. In Experiment 1, observers were asked to provide a typical color of five natural objects (blueberry, broccoli, salmon, sunflower and tomato) based on their memory. The results showed that memory colors were different for different observers. In Experiment 2, observers were shown an image of natural objects and selected the color they perceived. งานวิจัยนี้ศึกษาอิทธิพลของการตั้งสมดุลแสงขาวในกล้องดิจิทัลต่อความแตกต่างสีภาพถ่ายรอยโรคผิวหนัง ศึกษาผลของการปรับแก้สีด้วยการควบคุมสมดุลสีเทาและศึกษาผลการวินิจฉัยของแพทย์ต่อความถูกต้องของสีภาพถ่ายรอยโรคผิวหนังที่ผ่านการปรับแก้สีด้วยการควบคุมสมดุลสีเทา กระบวนการวิจัยเริ่มจากสร้างแผ่นสีขึ้นตามแผ่นสีมาตรฐาน X-Rite ColorChecker Classic‎ เพื่อใช้เป็นสีอ้างอิง แล้วใช้กล้องดิจิทัลถ่ายภาพแผ่นสีอ้างอิงนี้โดยตั้งสมดุลแสงขาวแบบ อัตโนมัติ ฟลูออเรสเซนต์ เดย์ไลท์ แฟลช และกำหนดเอง ภายใต้แหล่งแสง 3 ชนิดคือ ฟลูออเรสเซนต์ แฟลชสตูดิโอ และริงแฟลช จากนั้นจึงวิเคราะห์ความแตกต่างสีที่ได้แล้วนำภาพทั้งหมดที่ได้มาปรับแก้สีด้วยการควบคุมสมดุลสีเทาโดยใช้แผ่นสีอ้างอิง หลังจากนั้นจึงหาค่าความแตกต่างสีระหว่างภาพก่อนปรับแก้สีกับหลังปรับแก้สี ต่อจากนั้นจึงถ่ายภาพรอยโรคผิวหนังคู่กับแผ่นสีอ้างอิงจำนวน 62 ภาพแล้วนำภาพที่ได้มาปรับแก้สีด้วยการควบคุมสมดุลสีเทาต่อจากนั้นให้แพทย์ผิวหนังประเมินภาพโดยมองจากจอคอมพิวเตอร์ที่คาริเบทแล้ว จากผลการทดลองการปรับตั้งสมดุลแสงขาวในกล้องเป็นแบบอัตโนมัติจะให้ผลดีที่สุดและเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับการปรับแก้สีภาพถ่ายโดยการควบคุมสมดุลสีเทาแล้วพบว่าได้ค่าความแตกต่างสีเฉลี่ยก่อนปรับแก้เท่ากับ 4.08 หลังจากทำการปรับสมดุลสีเทาได้ค่าความแตกต่างสีเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 3.67 และจากที่แพทย์ผิวหนังส่วนใหญ่ประเมินภาพได้ให้คะแนนความถูกต้องของสีกับภาพที่ผ่านการปรับแก้สีด้วยการควบคุมสมดุลสีเทา 4.00 คะแนนและภาพที่ไม่ผ่านการปรับแก้สี 3.45 คะแนน

กลุ่มคนสายตาเลือนรางมีการมองเห็นด้อยประสิทธิภาพกว่าคนสายตาปกติอย่างมาก ทำให้ขาดความสะดวกและความปลอดภัยในการทำกิจกรรมประจำวันทั้งภายในและภายนอกอาคาร งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อหารูปแบบ ขนาด และสีของลูกศรบอกทิศทางที่เห็นได้ชัดและสื่อความหมายได้ชัดเจนสำหรับผู้ที่มีการมองเห็นเลือนราง เพื่อนำไปใช้ในที่ทำการไปรษณีย์ไทย งานวิจัยได้ออกแบบลูกศร 8 แบบ ให้ผู้สังเกตที่มีสายตาปกติสวมใส่แว่นตาจำลองการมองเห็นเลือนราง 3 ชนิด ได้แก่ การมองเห็นแบบลานสายตาแคบ (NV) ที่ให้ค่าลานสายตา 10 องศา การมองเห็นแบบตามัว (BL) และการมองเห็นเลือนรางเนื่องมาจากหลอดเลือดจอประสาทตาอุดตัน (OLS) ที่ให้ค่าสายตา 0.04 ขั้นแรกให้ผู้สังเกตจำนวน 20 คนเลือกแบบลูกศรที่สังเกตได้ชัดเจนและสื่อสารบอกทิศทางได้ดีที่สุด โดยได้ลูกศรแบบที่ 1 จากนั้นนำลูกศรที่ได้มาปรับการนำเสนอด้วยสีแดง สีเขียว สีน้ำเงินและสีเหลือง ตามที่ระบุในมาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรมสีและเครื่องหมายเพื่อความปลอดภัย เลขที่ มอก. 635-2554 และออกแบบให้เป็นพอสิทิฟ และเนกาทิฟ และนำไปหาขนาดที่เหมาะสมที่ทำให้คนสายตาเลือนรางทั้ง 3 แบบมองเห็นได้ชัดเจน พบว่ามีขนาด 5.5 องศาเมื่อมองห่างจากภาพลูกศร 1 เมตร จากนั้นเพิ่มจำนวนแบบโดยเพิ่มขอบเครื่องหมายลูกศรรวม 8 แบบให้ผู้สังเกตระบุทิศทางและบันทึกเวลาตอบสนอง ผลที่ได้ถูกนำไปจำลองวางบนภาพที่ถ่ายจากที่ทำการไปรษณีย์จริง ตรวจสอบระยะเวลาการตอบสนองของลูกศรเปรียบเทียบกันระหว่างในกลุ่มผู้สังเกตที่สายตามีความคมชัดน้อยกว่า 0.05 กับสายตาปกติที่สวมแว่นตาจำลอง และกลุ่มผู้สังเกตที่มีสายตาเลือนรางกับสายตาปกติที่สวมแว่นตาจำลอง ซึ่งพบว่าผู้สังเกตสายตาเลือนรางมีการตอบสนองต่อลูกศรไวกว่าผู้สังเกตสายตาปกติที่สวมแว่นตาจำลองและ ผู้สังเกตสายตามีความคมชัดน้อยกว่า 0.05 ตามลำดับ โดยผู้สังเกตสายตาเลือนรางตอบสนองต่อกลุ่มลูกศรสีน้ำเงินได้ดีกว่าลูกศรในกลุ่มสีอื่น

On the surface, Colombia appears to be at the vanguard of the gay rights movement, having extended legal rights to same-sex couples and transgender people in recent years. But for many of the nearly five million Colombians who are LGBT, these rights have been largely meaningless as a result of the deep-rooted prejudice that often results in violence.
