Documentary Editing: Journal of the Association for Documentary Editing (1979–2011)
One of the joys of documentary editing is the opportunity to watch stories unfold in the documents. Thus, it is not surprising to see academic and trade presses publishing works aimed at a popular audience that rely heavily on historical texts. In the past several decades, documentary editors have done a remarkable job in creating standards, although most of their energies have focused on scholarly editions. Those efforts have been less successful in reaching those who prepare popular editions. Home Front Soldier is a good example of a work that effectively uses documents to tell a story, yet has not …

It is more appropriate to discuss a subject that I have explored and experienced intensively in recent years, that is of some broad cultural interest, and that may offer moments of light entertainment following a heavy meal. My remarks are entitled, "Now He Belongs to the Sages," but could also be "Living with Lincoln."

Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

Can A Postmodern Philosopher Teach Modern Philosophy?, Ladelle Mcwhorter
Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Faculty Publications
This paper considers the following question: how can those whose thought is informed by poststructuralist values, arguments, and training legitimately teach the history of philosophy? In answering this question, three pedagogical approaches to courses in the history of philosophy are considered and criticized: the representational, the phenomenological, and the conversational. Although these three approaches are seemingly exhaustive, each is problematic because the question they attempt to answer rests on the false assumption that there is one, universally right way to teach philosophy and many wrong ways. Sexuality, Textuality: The Cultural Work Of Plagiarism, Rebecca Moore Howard
Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition - All Scholarship
Considers how plagiarism continues to elude definition because teachers cannot possibly formulate and act on a definition of plagiarism that articulates both its textual and sexual work. Discusses linking sexual property to textual transgression and rejecting metaphors in relationship to rejecting plagiarism. Suggests educators stop using the term plagiarism altogether and replace it with "fraud," "insufficient citation," and "excessive repetition."
