Atkins conducted an intensive cultural resources investigation on behalf of Navitas Midstream Partners LLC for the proposed La Bahia Pipeline in Brazos and Grimes Counties, Texas, during September and October 2014. The investigations consisted of an intensive terrestrial cultural resources survey for a proposed 13.13‐mile, 20‐inch‐diameter natural gas pipeline, which originates near the Gibbons Creek Reservoir and terminates at a new gas‐processing facility west of the Navasota River. The overall Area of Potential Effect (APE) is about 200 feet (ft) (61 meters [m]) wide with a depth of impacts averaging between 6 to 8 ft (1.8 to 2.4 m), with …

At the request of Leander Independent School District, Atkins North America, Inc. (Atkins) conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of a 23-acre tract in northwestern Travis County, Texas, between the cities of Jonestown and Cedar Park. The project area is proposed for future construction of Leander Independent School District’s Travisso School Project. This investigation was conducted under Texas Antiquities Permit No. 7093. No cultural resources sites were located, and no artifacts were collected. Field records will be curated at the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory. Cultural resource clearance is recommended for the project.

The inventory was entirely privately funded by BNB Lamesa Solar, LLC and was designed to be in compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas (ACT). TNMP contracted HDR to conduct a cultural resources survey of the Area of Potential Effects (APE), which is approximately 380 feet in length and 50 feet wide (19,000 square feet, 0.44 acre), for the proposed relocation of three distribution poles in the City of Kermit, Winkler County, Texas. The archaeological investigation conducted by HDR consisted of a survey of the APE to determine the presence/absence of archaeological resources by employing pedestrian survey and photo-documentation. Atkins was contracted by the City of San Antonio (COSA) to perform cultural resource investigations of the proposed Indian Creek II (CIMS) Drainage Improvement Project in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Covering an area of 40.36 acres (16.33 hectares), the project would improve localized flooding within the 100-year floodplain by creating overflow channels, and in some locations, by deepening and widening the existing channel bottom. On October 28 and 29, 2014, an intensive pedestrian survey was conducted of four portions of the project area, totaling 17.79 acres (7.24 hectares). The northern boundary of the project area is the South Alamo Street Bridge, and the southern boundary is the confluence with Apache-Alazán Creek. The project area consisted of a 70- ft wide corridor along the center-line of San Pedro Creek. The field investigations were conducted over the course of three days in June of 2014. On December 4, 2014, an archeologist with Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an archeological survey of a small property in northwest Austin in Williamson County, Texas. The work was performed for the proposed residential development of a 9.3-acre parcel of private property just west of Lake Creek at the intersection of Parmer Lane and Sage Grouse Drive. The field investigation was limited to the edges of the project area due to ongoing earthmoving and residential construction, which had extensively disturbed and reworked almost all of the parcel.

The work was carried out for Willacy County under Texas Antiquities Permit 7078 by Chris Dayton of Cox|McLain Environmental Consulting, Inc. (CMEC).

Hicks & Company archaeologists, working on behalf of HowCo, Incorporated, and Haskell County (the County), recently conducted an intensive archaeological survey for the County’s proposed Paint Creek Water Improvements Project, located east of downtown Haskell in Haskell County, Texas. According to current design plans, the proposed project consists of the installation of a new water well and approximately 3,670 meters (m) of new, 15 centimeterdiameter, waterline within a 10 meter-wide corridor (Appendix A: Design Plans). Depth of impacts for the waterline installation is expected to be no more than 1.25 meters below ground surface.

From April to June 2014, personnel from Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an archeological and historical resources survey for Camino Real Fuels, L.L.C., of the North American Coal Corporation and the Dos Republicas Coal Partnership (DRCP) within 1,460 acres of land at the Eagle Pass Mine in Maverick County, Texas. The archeological survey resulted in the discovery and documentation of 16 previously unrecorded sites. Of the 16 sites, 15 are prehistoric Native American sites, and 1 is an artifact scatter associated with a complex of ruinous buildings. Three of the Native American sites are within floodplain settings and contain subsurface …
