This study seeks to analyze the description of the need for Mode Deactivation Counseling (MDC) as an effort to control adolescent sexual aggressiveness. The research method used literature study and quantitative approach through a survey of 27 inclusive secondary school counselor across several regions in Indonesia. The MDC literature study rested on Mode Deactivation Therapy (MDT), while the survey results were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis techniques by looking at the categorization of school counselors’ answers. Assessment of Group Counseling Competencies Scale (AGCCS) is one of the questionnaires important to assess group counseling competencies. The objective of this study is to adopt and test the psychometric properties of New Group Counseling Competencies Scale-Short Form (NGCCS-SF). This study used a new instrument adaptation procedure. A total of 73 candidates of group counselors from twoStudy Program of Guidance and Counseling in Indonesia were the participants of this study. The data of group counseling competencies were measured using NGCCS-SF. Operationally, data analysis used Rasch Model 3.75. This study aims to examine the role of proactive personality as a mediator of the relationship between parental support in career and self-efficacy in career decision making in junior high school students. The research sample of 140 people obtained by accidental sampling. The instruments used were Career-Related Parent Support Scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form, and Proactive Personality Scale which had been adapted into Indonesian. This study aims to determine the contribution of parent-child attachment on emotion regulation, self-esteem, conformity and student resilience of students. To achieve the goal, the study applied a causal relationship study design. 153 subjects were chosen randomly from public junior high schools in Yogyakarta. The research data were collected using Attachment Scale, Emotion Regulation Scale, Self-Esteem Scale, Conformity Scale and Resilience Scale which had been tested for their validity and reliability. The purpose of this study was to develop a valid, reliable scale to assess people’s comfort with sexual behaviors. The Comfort with Sexual Behaviors Scale (CSBS) was developed through multiple administrations. One factor, general comfort talking about sexual behaviors, accounted for 65% of the variance. The 30-item CSBS was a valid and reliable measure of comfort with discussion sexual behaviors.

Negotiating Sexual Values In Counselor Education: A Qualitative Case Exploration, Megan Speciale

The purpose of this qualitative case study was to examine the ways in which counselor educators acknowledge and negotiate their personal sexological worldviews in the teaching of sexuality counseling classes. Analysis of interview material, data mining, and member theorization of six participants (n=6) yielded four overarching themes: 1) centering self-awareness, 2) managing ethical bracketing, 3) affirming sexual diversity, and 4) teaching as a conduit for personal growth. Implications for educators and future recommendations for research are explored.

This article presents the results of an online survey study of 80 counselors to explore counselors’ knowledge about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) transmission, HIV prevention strategies, potentially related factors, and where counselors obtained their knowledge. Results show that approximately 90% of counselors correctly identified knowledge about HIV transmission, 68% correctly identified knowledge about HIV prevention strategies, and 64% reported receiving no education regarding HIV/AIDS in their graduate counseling programs. Implications for counselor training and professional development are discussed.

A growing trend in counselor education is to accommodate technological change with more online academic opportunities. Slow to emerge in the counselor education literature is information about how instructors have negotiated the change. This study highlights the experiences of six counselor educators from across the United States who transitioned from teaching counseling courses in the classroom to teaching them online. Faced with this heavy burden, it remains unclear if the Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs), the most common form complementary and alternative medicine, can lower the risk of stroke for them.
