INTRODUCTION: Angioedema has potential for rapid airway decompensation requiring intervention. Patients are often admitted to an ICU for "airway watch." There is a lack of evidence to support which patients require this.

AIM: We aimed to characterize admission patterns and outcomes of angioedema patients at our institution to assess resource utilization and necessity of ICU use. We hypothesized that patients not requiring intubation upon presentation are safe to manage outside the ICU.

Improving healthcare service quality required both technical and interpersonal enhancements through a personalized approach, as demonstrated by the “Duta We Care” program at a Central General Hospital in Padang. This study aimed to evaluate the program’s effectiveness by analyzing patient feedback from Google Reviews. A descriptive quantitative design examined 2,035 patient reviews from March 2013 to June 2024. Using NVivo 12 software, the data analysis generated word clouds. The results showed that 68.20% of reviews received a 5-star rating, 9.48% a 4-star rating, 4.35% a 3-star rating, 2.27% a 2-star rating, and 15.70% a 1-star rating. Introduction

The marginalization of intersecting racial, gender, and rural identities compounds the structural vulnerabilities (e.g., discrimination, stigma, health disparities) experienced by Black women in South Carolina’s rural areas. Discriminatory experiences can deteriorate mental health; however, resilience can potentially reduce the ill effects of discrimination by decreasing associated psychological distress. This study examines the mediating role of resilience in the association between discrimination and psychological distress among rural, Black women in South Carolina in the post-pandemic era.

Atherosclerosis, a major cause of mortality and morbidity in the United States (US), is driven by complex factors, including the cumulative burden of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and other atherogenic lipids and lipoproteins. Lipid management in US primary care aims to prevent atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) events through screening and LDL-C lowering to risk-based goals. Obesity significantly impacts women’s health, particularly among middle-aged women, by increasing the risk of hormone-sensitive cancers such as breast, endometrial, and reproductive system cancers. This study examines the educational needs of this demographic group regarding obesity-related cancer risks and explores effective intervention strategies. Obesity-induced mechanisms – hormonal imbalances, chronic inflammation, and insulin resistance – drive cancer susceptibility, emphasizing the need for targeted health education. CONTEXT: Obesity is a recognized risk factor for adverse outcomes in cervical spine surgery. While cervical disc arthroplasty (CDA) has emerged as an alternative to anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), comparative outcomes among obese patients remain underexplored.

Opioid-related mortality continues to claim tens of thousands of American lives annually. Medicaid plays an outsized role in financing opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment, paying for almost 40% of all Americans who received OUD treatment in 2017. Methods

Variations in portal usage might worsen communication inequities for pregnant people of color (POC), widening the digital divide. BACKGROUND: Listening sessions are useful for understanding community perspectives on cancer disparities. The Philadelphia Communities Conquering Cancer (PC3) coalition conducted listening sessions to identify community priorities for cancer prevention and control research among diverse communities in Philadelphia.

To maintain HIV care during the COVID-19 pandemic, many HIV clinics across the United States adopted telehealth. However, not everyone participated in telehealth equally. This report proposes an adapted, evidence-informed model for East Baton Rouge Parish that retains the core components of traditional HVIPs while leveraging existing legal, hospital, and social service resources.
