Background: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a virus that can infect both males and females, potentially causing genital warts, vaginal, cervical, anal, and vulvar cancers. According to CDC guidelines, the HPV vaccine can be given to boys and girls age 9 to 26 (CDC, 2017). Although cases of HPV have dropped as the number of HPV vaccinations rise, vaccine rates are still far below the Health People 2020 target of 80% coverage. With current rates of 49.5% coverage in females, and 37.5% in males through 2017, it is evident that current routes of vaccine education are not adequate (CDC, 2017).

Background: In the United States, there has been a 21% increase in the occurrence of premature births within the last two decades. These children are also more likely to require lifelong therapies, assistive technologies, mobility devices, and more supportive services throughout their time in school. Globally, preterm births, and their preventions, have become a topic of interest. One method that has had significant success rates is placing a cerclage to prevent cervical dilation; while simultaneously treating prophylactically for early delivery.

Introduction:
My project was a continuation of the Vascular Research Lab’s (VRL) ongoing research at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Knoxville (UTMCK) aimed at optimizing liposomal encapsulation efficiency of small interfering RNA (siRNA) which can be used to silence genes to prevent a variety of disease pathologies.
Methods:
- Assay siRNA loading capacity of liposomes based on lipid concentration
- Development of a method for liposome purification: HPLC & HiTRAP Column
Results & Conclusion:
- siRNA loading capacity
- Higher lipid:siRNA resulted in increased encapsulation efficiency
- HPLC – did not work as expected

Families affected by hydrocephalus in Viet Nam have few options for sustainable treatment for a myriad of reasons, primarily centering on barriers to care prevalent to minority, underserved, and economically disadvantaged populations. High morbidity and abandonment rates often result from these circumstances. An interdisciplinary examination of the factors contributing to causal concerns reveals unique cultural considerations, language and literacy barriers, ethnic and geographic differences, as well as economic and governmental issues greatly impacting patient outcome for this condition. Objective:
This study compared interactive video test performance and students' overall class performance. The hypothesis was that there would be a difference in video test performance compared to overall class performance.
Methods:
A total of 30 students participated in the pilot study from a master's level biomechanics course. Students completed four interactive video tests using EduCanon; content of videos included base of support, lever systems, scapulohumeral rhythm, and postural analysis. This content was reviewed with class discussion after completion of the interactive video test. The tests administered counted toward the participation portion of the final student grade.
