Aim: This study investigates the mechanical performance of obturators fabricated from PEKKTON, PEEK, and traditional Cobalet-chromium materials using finite element analysis. Methods : One three dimensional finite element model was created for this study. Starting by cast laser scanning to create solid parts of the model "cortical, cancellous, mucosa, obturator, and partial denture" that to simulate restoration of maxillectomy defects. The model was subjected to average masticatory load of 200N distributed on the partial denture vertically and oblique. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical performance of CAD-CAM-milled PEKK frameworks versus PEEK frameworks in the fabrication of clasp-retained maxillary obturators, assessing retention outcomes and patient satisfaction over a sixmonth follow-up period. Materials and Methods. Ten patients with maxillary defects (Armany class I) were randomly assigned to two equal groups (n=5). Materials and Methods: A total of sixteen implants were placed in eight patients with horizontally atrophic posterior mandibular ridges measuring 3–6 mm in width were randomly assigned to two groups with equal numbers. Objective: To investigate the impact of serum vitamin D levels on marginal bone loss (MBL) in patients restored with unsplinted-mandibular-implant overdentures using LOCATOR attachments. Materials and Methods: Thirty participants rehabilitated with three-implant-mandibular overdentures were included. Based on serum vitamin D at the time of prosthetic loading, participants were categorized into two equal groups: a test group with deficient vitamin D (< 20 ng/mL) and a control group with sufficient levels (≥30 ng/mL). Objective: This study aimed to establish cephalometric norms for the Tanzanian population, assess sexual dimorphism in cephalometric measurements, and compare these findings with established Caucasian and West African norms to enhance orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. Materials and Methods: A crosssectional study was conducted on 309 subjects (142 males, 167 females) at Muhimbili University Dental Clinic. Cephalometric radiographs were digitally traced using Quick Ceph Studio. Reliability was assessed using the inter-class correlation coefficient. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test checked normality, while one-sample t-tests and Student’s ttests (p < 0.05) were used for comparisons. Data were analyzed with RStudio. Results: Tanzanians showed significantly smaller craniofacial measurements than Caucasians. Males had larger skeletal dimensions than females. Compared to West Africans, Tanzanians had generally higher values, with a few exceptions. Conclusion: Tanzanians display distinct craniofacial characteristics, differing from both Caucasians and West Africans. These findings support the need for population-specific cephalometric norms to guide accurate orthodontic diagnosis and treatment.

Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) is a qualitative developmental enamel defect affecting at least one permanent first molar. Characterized by high porosity and reduced mineral content, MIH leads to hypersensitivity, post-eruptive breakdown, and increased caries susceptibility. The etiology is multifactorial, typically occurring between birth and four years of age. Management depends on severity, ranging from topical fluorides and sealants for mild cases to stainless-steel crowns or extractions for severe instances. Because porous enamel facilitates bacterial penetration and pulpal inflammation, achieving effective local anesthesia is often difficult, necessitating individualized behavioral management and early intervention to preserve tooth structure.

There have been 17 reported cases of isolated amyloid deposition (amyloidoma) of the hard palate (Table 1). We present an 18th case, with a review of the literature on amyloidosis. Systemic conditions, such as multiple myeloma, must be ruled out when amyloid deposition is present. However, localized amyloidoma of the palate is rare, and there are few cases reported in the literature.

This two-case report presents the use of the Individual Patient Solutions (IPS) Implants® Preprosthetic system in two patients with distinct clinical needs.

Case #1 involves a 69-year-old male with significant unilateral maxillary bone loss and a residual oroantral communication (OAC) following the failure of both conventional implants and sinus lift procedures. Case #2 involves a patient with a severely atrophic, edentulous mandible. These cases present two distinct and challenging clinical scenarios where both traditional endosseous and zygomatic implants were not feasible. Myeloid sarcoma is a rare extramedullary presentation of acute myeloid leukemia and is especially uncommon in the oral cavity. The presence of myeloid sarcoma may be the initial manifestation of an underlying hematolymphoid disorder or may indicate relapsing disease. We report a case of a 48-year-old male with refractory acute myeloid leukemia who presented with a painful, yellow, plaque-like ulceration on the buccal mucosa. Incisional biopsy demonstrated ulcerated squamous mucosa with a dense infiltrate of large, atypical immunoblastic cells admixed with a prominent population of morphologically atypical eosinophils. This national survey evaluates how pediatric dentists manage patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). While most practitioners collect data on oral hygiene and verbal communication, fewer assess social interaction or sensitivity-related characteristics. The study suggests using supplemental intake forms to plan appointments based on individual needs and functioning levels. Key accommodations reported include behavior guidance, modified appointment times, and operatory adjustments. Results indicate that increased professional experience with ASD correlates with more comprehensive data collection and a higher perceived value of that information. Ultimately, partnering with parents is vital for creating successful dental encounters for children with ASD.

Atherosclerosis remains the primary driver of global cardiovascular disease, yet clinical interventions are largely restricted to high-cost, invasive procedures only after it has reached a critical stage. Recent research has identified a connection between the oral microbiome and vascular health via the enterosalivary nitrate-nitrite-nitic oxide (NO) pathway. Oral nitrate-reducing bacteria (ONRB) drive the synthesization of NO by reducing dietary nitrate into nitrite, which is then converted into bioavailable NO. NO is a potent vasodilator that maintains endothelial health by suppressing inflammation through inhibiting the expression of adhesion molecules VCAM-1 and ICAM-1.
