Dental therapists have emerged as a solution to improve access to dental care. Understanding Arizona dentists' attitudes towards dental therapists is crucial in the successful integration into the dental workforce and its potential to be a viable solution. Licensed dentists in Arizona were invited to participate in an anonymous study. Participants were asked questions regarding the scope of practice, current educational standards, and quality of treatment to determine the attitudes of dentists towards dental therapists. Double-Blinded Randomized Control Trial Investigating The Efficacy Of Probiotic Mouth Rinse In Enhancing Oral Health, Sudeep C B Prof. Dr., Sunil P M Prof. Dr.

The efficacy of probiotic mouth rinse in enhancing oral health was investigated through a double-blinded randomized controlled trial involving 45 children aged 12 to 15 over a two-week period. Comparing probiotic mouth rinse, chlorhexidine mouth rinse, and a control group, plaque and gingival accumulation were assessed using established indices. Results indicated both probiotic and chlorhexidine groups exhibited reduced plaque compared to the control, with the probiotic group showing superior reduction in gingival inflammation. These findings suggest the potential of probiotic mouth rinse in improving oral hygiene and overall oral health.

Periodontal disease (PD) and coronary heart disease (CHD) are both prevalent diseases worldwide and cause patients physical and mental suffering and a global burden. Recent studies have suggested a link between PD and CHD, but there is less research in this field from the perspective of bibliometrics. This study aimed to quantitatively analyze the literature on PD and CHD to summarize intellectual bases, research hotspots, and emerging trends and pave the way for future research.

Background: The goal of this in vitro study was to compare three different surfaces: two types of implant surfaces commercially available ([a] smooth/machined and [b] acid-treated surface) versus (c) anodized surface. Discs were manufactured with commercially pure titanium (CP) grade IV, which were subsequently analyzed by scanning microscopy and fibroblastic and osteoblastic cell cultures. Objectives: The goal of this study was to assess the newly formed bone and the remnant biomaterial by comparing four different bone grafts used to treat critical-size defects, associated or not with the non-resorbable membrane.

Materials and methods: Two calvaria critical-size bone defects were created in 50 male Wistar rats. They were divided into blood (G1), autogenous (G2), bioglass (G3), hydroxyapatite (G4), and xenograft (G5) groups, associated or not with e-PTFE. The experimental periods were 15 and 45 days. Sections were prepared for histomorphometric assessment. All data were analyzed by the mixed-effects model with multiple comparisons (significance level, p < .05).

This study aims to evaluate the changes in decay, missed, and filled teeth (DMFT) indexes on panoramic radiographs of T2DM patients at the end of a five-year follow-up and compare them with the control group.

While the HPV vaccine has proven effective in reducing cancer and genital warts, its uptake remains limited due to low public and professional awareness. The body is plagued with consistent states of inflammation due to the autoimmune defense against the body's healthy tissues. Purpose Disaster victim identification (DVI) service requires knowledge, confidence, and an attitude (KCA) of readiness. The purpose of this study was to assess allied dental students’ perceived KCA regarding DVI skills and topics.

Methods A convenience sample of senior dental hygiene students (n=27) and senior dental assistant students (n=14) were recruited by email then presented mismatched simulated antemortem (AM) and postmortem (PM) bitewing radiographs and asked to indicate correct matches. Collectively, participants made 205 radiographic matches and indicated 205 degrees of certainty binarily as “positive” or “possible” (one per match). Purpose: There has been an increase in the number of persons identifying as LGBTQ+ in the United States. LQBTQ+ individuals are also subject to social stigmas and discrimination which create barriers to obtaining quality healthcare. Providers may harbor implicit or unconscious biases which may negatively affect their ability to provide impartial health or oral healthcare. An awareness of biases early in education may promote equitable care and increase quality of oral healthcare delivered to diverse populations.
