Background: One in 36 children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Oral health for children with ASD is significantly impacted by sensory sensitivities and communication delays. Purpose: The purpose of this project is to provide special education preschool teachers with an evidence-based oral hygiene module. This module is focused toward giving teachers the confidence and accommodations to provide a daily toothbrushing program. Theoretical Framework. The theoretical framework used in the development of this Capstone is Cognitive Learning Theory, the Theory of Planned Behavior, and Occupational Justice.

Methods This IRB approved blinded cross-sectional observation pilot study collected lip prints from sixty-six individuals, three of which were excluded. Aim: The aim of this systematic review is to analyze and compare tooth loss (TL) rates between regular and irregular compliant patients having different smoking habits.

Materials and Methods: Electronic and manual literature searches were conducted by one author in several databases, including Medline (PubMed), Embase, Google Scholar. A total of 156 publications were screened. Three reviewers analyzed the articles and extracted the data. A total of 33 studies met the inclusion criteria.

The COVID-19 pandemic has required educators to develop innovative methods for IPE student engagement. The purpose of this study was to evaluate a college-based virtual IPE activity for first-year health profession students and measure their interprofessional socialization and values (ISVS) toward IPE teams. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of edentulousness on the temporomandibular joint using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: In this study, CBCT images were evaluated in a total of 48 patients (24 dentulous, 24 edentulous). Ninety-six temporomandibular joint CBCT images were examined. Eminence inclination, condyle head widths and joint space were measured and statistically compared between the edentulous and dentulous groups. Adolescents from minority groups are particularly susceptible to poor oral hygiene behaviors, including lack of daily flossing. This cross-sectional study aimed to conduct an exploratory behavioral research to identify evidence-based (theory-based) approaches to promote flossing behavior among African American/Black and Latinx/Hispanic (minority) adolescents. A 39-item psychometrically valid web-based questionnaire was used to collect responses from a nationwide sample of minority adolescents aged 10–17 years residing in the United States. The data were analyzed using bivariate and multivariate statistical methods. LGBTQ+ populations constitute increasing proportions of children, adolescents, and adults in the United States. Compared to their heterosexual counterparts, this group suffers from health inequities, including oral health. The report “Oral Health: Advances and Challenges” identified the LGBTQ+ community as an underserved population which faces significant barriers in accessing oral health care. Coverage of LGBTQ+ topics in formal education settings in both dental schools and dental hygiene programs is scarce, which contributes to inequities within this group. Increasing curriculum content related to LGBTQ+ populations is of utmost importance to promote optimal patient-provider interactions while improving oral health outcomes. Ensuring equity …
