วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ศึกษาปฏิบัติการกลยุทธ์การดึงเข้ามาเป็นพวกโดยพรรคพลังประชารัฐ ในการเลือกตั้ง พ.ศ. 2562 ซึ่งเป็นการเลือกตั้งภายใต้บริบทการเมืองที่ไม่เป็นประชาธิปไตย คำถามในการศึกษาคือ พรรคพลังประชารัฐดึงนักการเมืองฝ่ายตรงเข้ามาเป็นพวกเพื่อรักษาและสืบทอดระบอบอำนาจนิยม ด้วยกลยุทธ์แบบใด? ใช้เครื่องมือใด? และปฏิบัติการอย่างไร? งานศึกษานี้ใช้วิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ รวบรวมข้อมูลโดย 1) การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกและ 2) การศึกษาเอกสาร และวิเคราะห์ผ่านแนวคิดกลยุทธ์การดึงเข้ามาเป็นพวกของ Maria Josua ข้อค้นพบในการศึกษาคือ บริบทการเมืองที่รัฐบาล คสช. ควบคุมสถาบันรัฐธรรมนูญและกติกาการเมือง สร้างการแข่งขันที่ไม่เป็นธรรม กีดกั้นผู้เห็นต่างและทำให้เป็นผู้แพ้ ใช้ทรัพยากรรัฐเอื้อให้พรรคพลังประชารัฐได้รับความนิยมในการเลือกตั้ง ปูทางให้พรรคพลังประชารัฐรักษาระบอบอำนาจนิยม ด้วยปฏิบัติการดึงเข้ามาเป็นพวกในการเลือกตั้ง พ.ศ. 2562 ของพรรคพลังประชารัฐ ดังนี้ 1) เครือข่ายทางการเมือง 2) ตำแหน่งทางการเมือง 3) เงิน 4) นโยบายและงบประมาณ และ 5) ปัดเป่า/ยัดคดีความ และลงโทษในการเลือกตั้ง กลยุทธ์การดึงเข้ามาเป็นพวกทั้ง 5 ด้าน ทำให้พรรคพลังประชารัฐชนะการเลือกตั้ง พ.ศ. 2562 และหวนคืนสถานะเป็นรัฐบาลสืบทอดอำนาจ

In recent years, more attention has been paid to the immigration crisis at the US-Mexico border thanks in part to the strict immigration restrictions from the Trump administration, such as the family separation policy. Immigration remains a widely misunderstood issue and arguments against increased immigration are often laced with racist stereotypes and perceptions that find their roots in centuries of US policy, court cases, and administrative rules. Bill Clinton’s 1992 election to the presidency as a Democrat ended a series of defeats for that party on the presidential level. Clinton may have won the White House, but he did not do it alone. This Independent Study explores how women’s increased presence in presidential primary debates impacts the extent to which women’s issues are discussed in the debates. Prior research on political representation and critical mass theory indicates that women politicians can turn their identity as women (descriptive representation) into action that benefits their women constituents (substantive representation) by adding women’s voices and lived experiences into the political conversation. This study examines the relationship between National Park visitation, place attachment, and levels of support for pro-environmental ballot measures. The theoretical argument for this relationship is that increased visitation to National Parks will lead to increased place attachment, or connection, to the National Parks. This increased connection to a place of natural beauty could cause people to be more inclined to support ballot measures that protect the environment. A survey, administered through Amazon’s Mechanical Turk, was used to collect the data, and a mediation analysis was used to analyze it. The results of this study show that visitation to National …

This Independent Study examines the effect that female mentorship has on women’s experiences in law school. Previous literature indicates seven areas in which women’s experiences differ from men’s: their attitudinal changes over time in law school, their relationships with professors, their participation in class, their perception of their academic achievement, their feelings of alienation, and their confidence. In every way, women’s experiences are worse than men’s. Some mentorship literature suggests that these experiences could be improved by female mentorship, though other literature demonstrates that female mentorship has no effect. This chapter examines Soviet military planning and preparedness on the eve of Germany’s June 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union. Drawing on archival evidence and post-Soviet scholarship, it reassesses explanations for the Red Army’s catastrophic initial defeats. It argues that the General Staff’s unrealistic offensive plans and force posture conflicted with Stalin’s political strategy of deterrence and war avoidance. This mismatch, rooted partly in the Soviet military’s organizational preference for offensive operations and flawed assumptions about mobilization and the initial period of war, increased Soviet vulnerability to surprise attack. A strategic partnership has become particularly relevant in the wake of the Russian war in Ukraine. Most studies focus on the historical perspective of particular special relations leaning toward the long-standing nature and stability of those relations. Others describe interstate partnerships as dynamic developments rather than static phenomena. Identity politics are fraught. High school is a prime location where such politics play out and interface with state-dictated norms and values about acceptable social behavior. This article examines identity politics during the Trump era in two far Northern California high schools to better understand the impact on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students.
