Constructing A Neoliberal Youth Culture In Postcolonial Bangladeshi Advertising, Md Khorshed Alam
Constructing A Neoliberal Youth Culture In Postcolonial Bangladeshi Advertising, Md Khorshed Alam
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
My dissertation examines the role of advertising in producing cultural narratives within the contemporary neoliberal economy and the historical context of Bangladesh. The dialectical tensions between the global and local, universal, and particular inform this study. Using a postcolonial and cultural studies approach, this study investigates how Bangladeshi advertisers reconfigure, replace, or reinforce the notion of youth culture in Bangladesh. This study is significant because it: a) introduces a …

China’S “Three Warfares”: People’S Liberation Army Influence Operations, Edwin S. Cochran, U.S. Department Of Defense, Retired
International Bulletin of Political Psychology
The following article—whose author is both a retired US Army officer and retired Department of Defense civilian employee with multiple publications—focuses on Chinese information operations. Readers might wish to speculate on matters such as why the Chinese have organized the way they have, whether the organization leads to optimal integration of tools of national security/political power, and how vulnerable specific populations and even intelligence cultures are to specific types of information operations. One might even conclude that the only thing that has not changed in thousands of years has been the technology available to influence others.

BAU Journal - Society, Culture and Human Behavior
It has become very difficult to challenge, or to deny, the fact that opinion polls play a major role in the social and political process of any given society. Hence, great efforts have been exerted to understand the relation between opinion polls and elections in particular in various political systems.
At the forefront of the issues related to the impact of opinion polls comes the case of elections, in which polls play a significant role of ostentatious impact on the public opinion. The interest shown by local, Arab and international media in the elections held in Israel and Tunisia in …
