The study investigated the factors that influenced the use of electronic information sources by postgraduate students in six Universities in the South West, Nigeria. The Role Of Auditors In Fraud Detection, Prevention And Reporting In Nigeria, Ayobami Oluwagbemiga Oyinlola

Abstract This study investigates the role of auditors in the detection, prevention and reporting of fraud. Data were obtained from 184 respondents in Nigeria. The findings revealed that the respondents are very concerned about the problem of fraud. In addition, the respondents placed very high expectation on auditors’ duties on fraud prevention and detection. This perception is in contrast with the stated primary objective of an audit, as stipulated in ISA 200, which merely required auditors to form an opinion on the financial statements, but not of fraud detection. This study compared the effects of captioned video instruction and face-to-face instruction on library use instruction of secondary school students with hearing impairment. This study adopted the quasi-experimental pre-test, post -test control group design. This study employed two treatment groups comprising captioned video instruction group and face to face instruction group as well as a control group. Two research instruments, Library Use Instruction Test and Library Practical Use Checklist were used as data collection tools. The Role Of Effective Communication In Enhancement Of Library Services: An Overview Of Delta State University Library, Abraka, Daniel Emojorho

This study evaluated the effectiveness of communication in enhancement of library services at Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. An ex-post-facto descriptive research design was adopted. A questionnaire was used to collect data, and frequency distribution and percentages were used to analyze it. The findings revealed that effective communication enhanced library services. There was a contrary view on the use of oral communication. While library staff applauded the use of oral communication in library operations, most users said it does not encourage research. The low level of ICT usage was also observed. As a result of these findings, recommendations were made.

This study investigated the influence of farmers’ personal and socio-economic characteristics on their use of agricultural information provided by the Imo State Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), Nigeria. An ex-post facto research design was used for the study. Stratified proportionate sampling technique was used to select a sample of 1,032 out of a total of 6,300 farmers across the existing 34 farm blocks and 63 farm cells in the three ADP zones of the state. In an article investigating how librarians are depicted in the mass media, Maura Seale identifies five categories into which the majority of representations fall: the old maid, the policeman, the parody, the inept librarian, and the hero/ine. Unlike prior representations of librarians in mass media, however, which have been largely controlled by non-librarians, the increased opportunities for amateur video distribution on sites like YouTube have allowed librarians themselves to decide how they are portrayed. This paper examines challenges of access to agricultural information by fish farmers in Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. The survey research design was employed. 100 fish farmers from Bayelsa and Delta States in Nigeria, served as population for the study. The questionnaire, personal observation, and oral interview were the instruments used in data collection. The study revealed that there is availability of relevant agricultural information for fish farmers, with a corresponding difficulty in accessing such information. This paper examines the influence of leadership style on the performance of subordinates in Nigerian Libraries. The sample consisted of professional librarians and their supporting staff in Nigerian libraries. A total of 100 questionnaires were administered, with a 72 percent response rate. The result showed that there was a positive relationship between the leadership style of librarians and support staff in Nigerian libraries.

This paper reports on a study which assessed the effects of information and communication technology (ICT) on research and development activities at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO). The research focused on the use of computers, application software, and the Internet by all cadres of staff at the Institute. A thematic analysis highlighted the current state of ICT applications, level of literacy, and problems and challenges encountered in the application and use of ICTs. The study revealed a need to train members of staff in ICT. Infrastructure such as power supply and Internet connectivity need to be improved.
