Information Needs And Seeking Behavior Of Farmers In Southern Ethiopia, Deribe Kaske

Information is an important factor in agricultural development. The study investigated farmers’ agricultural information needs and seeking behavior in the Southern Regional State of Ethiopia. A cross-sectional research design was employed and the study population included all household heads of the eight sampled villages in four administrative zones. A multi-stage sampling procedure was employed to obtain a sample of 320 farmers. Quantitative data were collected and research adopted descriptive statistics. The results revealed information on crop production technologies; information about diseases, pests and weather forecasts, and market information were identified as the top three most important types of agricultural information. …

This informetric study was aimed at finding out the distribution of articles and authors that published in the Nigerian Libraries: Journal of the Nigerian Library Association from 2009 to 2018. Also, the year-wise growth of of research articles; auhorship pattern; and collaboration ratio; subject distribution of articles and institutional affiliation of authors were examined. The journal was selected based on it's consistency and popularity. Data collected through a self-designed checklist was analysed using frequency count and percentage. The findings revealed that 134 articles, contributed by 252 authors were published in Nigerian Libraries from 2009-2018. An annual average growth of 31.56% …

This study investigates students’ preference of reading print and digital resources. A questionnaire survey with a stratified random sample of 700 postgraduate students of the universities in Kerala state of India was used to conduct the study. Comparison on media provided a fascinating insight into the way students read. The students reported a better comprehension, concentration, higher content absorption and comfort levels, if they read on print resources as opposed to digital resources. A connection was established with twitter using Twitter API, and receiving the tweets on Google Spreadsheets. The study shared the experience of an academic library during the COVID-19 pandemic in a Nigerian University. The study was a descriptive survey to purposively sample 2687 subscribers to the library social media platform “the Telegram” used to disseminate library services. The paper examined utilization of cloud computing and its relationship on the academic performance of final year students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. A 4-point Lickert scale of Strongly Agree; Agree; Disagree; Strongly Disagree was used to obtain responses from the 285 sample respondents. The result shows that majority of 206(72%) out of 285 utilizes cloud computing for e-mail and other social media platform. The primary purpose of this paper is to investigate the Mendeley readership counts of Sambalpur University's publications from 1971 to 2018. The present study attempts to evaluate the level of awareness and attitude towards the application of web-based services among library professionals of central university Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi. The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the entire world. This study aimed to measure how well COVID-19 articles attracted in the social web during the deadly pandemic period. A total of 145 articles from Nature journal were collected and analyzed to gauge the major metrics from various social platforms. The results showed that social media attention to the articles was fluctuating in each month recording an upward and downward trend. The main aim of this research is to evaluate the attitude of university students' towards Information Technology (IT) and to identify whether their attitude plays any significant role in contributing digital divide among them. The study used quantitative research design and administered a pre-validated questionnaire to a sample of 644 postgraduate students selected with stratified random sampling.
