A profit criterion which will make possible the selection of optimum conversion practices in the Pinyon-Juniper woodlands can be made operational if: (a) it is possible to predict eradication costs and resulting total costs (eradication costs, seed costs, and seed application costs), and (b) it is possible to determine for age production resulting from initial eradication, as well as when it reaches absolute minimum allowable limit due to tree re-growth. Knowledge of the above relationships makes it possible to determine the optimum practice.

Children afflicted with speech disorders represent the largest single group of exceptional children. The numbers of speech defectives reach between 2 and 2½ million or about 5% of the population (Johnson et al., 1956). Newman (1961) has disputed this claim and has stressed the difference to be made between speech differences and handicapping conditions:

An attempt was made in the present research to investigate the effects of informational source, instructional differences, environment in the college, and awareness of ethnic and religious attitudes as the result of the administration of the test instrument.

Subjects used in the study were drawn from courses in general psychology and basic orientation courses in engineering. All subjects were presented with a revision of the Bogardus Social Distance Scale following the fall quarter of instruction (1960-61 academic year).
