This report, The National Survey of Donor Advised Fund Donors, is the final of a three-part research series conducted by the Donor Advised Fund Research Collaborative (DAFRC). The report offers a comprehensive look into the characteristics and perspectives of individuals and families who utilize donor advised funds (DAFs) for their charitable giving in the United States. The study surveyed over 2,100 DAF donors, focusing on their demographics, financial characteristics, giving patterns, decision-making processes, motivations for using DAFs, and the role of DAFs in their overall philanthropic strategy.

The Donor Advised Fund Research Collaborative (DAFRC) is a group of academic and nonprofit researchers leading a 4-year, comprehensive research initiative to provide empirical data and insights on the characteristics and activities of donor advised funds (DAFs) in the United States.

This report, which is the second of three reports by the DAFRC, provides insights into DAF sponsors’ perceptions, policies, and practices. The report’s findings are based on a 2023 management survey of 128 DAF sponsors. This survey covered topics related to DAF strategy, operational capacity, philanthropic advising, internal policy execution, and the marketing of DAF sponsors.

Donor advised funds (DAFs) are the fastest-growing form of philanthropy. In 2023, nearly 1.8 million DAF accounts received about $59 billion in contributions, distributed about $55 billion in grants, and ended the year with about $252 billion in assets (National Philanthropic Trust, 2024).

This article critically examines the dominance of neurotypical norms in contemporary workplaces and explores the potential for inclusive, neurodiverse workplaces to move from the margins to the mainstream. We offer a brief scoping review of the existing review literature on neurodivergence at work. Focusing on the more common neurominority differences such as autism spectrum, dyslexia and ADHD we apply the neurodiversity framework to challenge traditional notions of workplace "professionalism" and productivity. By synthesizing current research we propose constructive suggestions for creating truly neurodiverse work environments. In this paper, I recount my personal journey of healing and growth as an Autistic psychotherapist, 16 months after self-identification. Here is an overview of conceptual frameworks from #actuallyautistic authors, critical theory, queer theory, and social justice that I have found helpful. I also share some of the therapeutic and wellness approaches that have been important to me, including mindfulness and bodyfulness. The traditional workplace is a neurotypical workplace. The foundations of the neurotypical, traditional workplace stem from the developmental norms and social processes which imbed neurotypicality into Western society. Children, from a young age, are praised for appearing neurotypical and are punished for any deviations outside of the ‘norm’—internalizing and problematizing neurodivergent behaviours as ‘unproductive’, ‘problematic’, and ‘abnormal.’ Moreover, existing as racialized and neurodivergent highlights specific, intersectional issues in the workplace worth reflecting on. This essay provides an autoethnographic account of my experiences as an autistic employee in academia. By examining organizational communication literature on autism in the workplace, I identify some key issues that autistic employees face in academic workplaces. With research finding approximately 85% of autistic individuals are unemployed, and of those who are employed, only 6% are competitively employed in jobs that utilize their educational training and/or professional skill level, current cultural discourses around diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the workplace provide an opportunity to make organizational challenges for autistic employees more visible. Background: It is important to understand the factors that influence belief formation and belief change.

Objective: We test the hypothesis that following belief change about contentious topics, verifying a past belief will influence current beliefs.

Methods: In Experiment 1, participants reported initial beliefs about television violence in a prescreening, then read a belief-inconsistent text in the experiment. Participants either verified or did not verify their initial beliefs before reporting current beliefs. Purpose

The objective of this multi-group study is to examine the influence of service quality and convenience on customer satisfaction in quick service restaurants (QSRs) versus gas stations.

Design/methodology/approach

Data were collected online from 552 participants in the USA and analyzed using partial least square structure equation modeling (SmartPLS).

Findings

Service quality and convenience are strong predictors of customer satisfaction in both QSR restaurants and gas station food outlets. In addition, this study concluded significant differences between QSRs and gas stations in terms of these relations.
