The purpose of this inquiry is to demonstrate how the literary qualities of a political statement have contributed to the legal and economic development of an African nation.

Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya, is over eighty years of age. The prospect of the people of Kenya having to select a successor to President Kenyatta raises fundamental questions regarding the status of Kenya's constitution in terms of its having assumed, in the minds of Kenyans, the aura of legitimacy to the extent that they will accept its mandate as the supreme law. This report was compiled over a four-month period of time, ending March 1973, and was made possible, in part, by a grant from the YWCA to the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Sections of the study include welfare, education, health, employment, jobs, courts, religious organizations and recreation. In each section the focus was on obtaining an average understanding of the scope of activity taking place with special emphasis on facilities and services for girls and women.

The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.

A Basis For Legislation To Encourage Conservation Of Automobile Energy Fuel, James Pinson Ludwig

Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science

A detailed basis for legislation to institute a system of rating automobiles according to their energy costs is proposed, together with mechanisms to tax wasteful uses of energy associated with cars. A complementary rebate system for owners of very efficient vehicles also is proposed. This proposal is advanced instead of systems of increasing energy supplies or gasoline rationing to control consumer demand.

The age structure of a population provides a base for assessing present social and economic conditions as well as the starting point for predicting future population trends.

With an overall median age of 32.0 years, Omaha's population in 1950 (the unshaded population pyramid on page 3) had a sizeable proportion of its population of working age, but lacked school-age and young adult population. The four areas for which data were available paralleled the city's profile, with the closest match in the Northeast and Southeast.
