It is estimated that 25% of the world’s population has some form of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), a pathology associated with the development of cirrhosis, varices, and hepatocellular carcinoma. The discovery of a biallelic mutation in ABHD5 established the link between NAFLD and Chanarin-Dorfman syndrome. Consequently, it was hypothesized that additional NAFLD-inducing mutations could be associated with dermatologic manifestations.

Introduction: Direct Access Colonoscopy (DAC) does not require pre-colonoscopy consultation and may improve access for patients needing screening and surveillance. DAC eligibility criteria vary widely, and we developed a novel, DAC program using EMR patient data to assess appropriateness for inclusion. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and quality of our DAC program and compare to traditional, Office-Scheduled Colonoscopy (OSC).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective, single-center study of OSC and DAC patients ages 45-75 with a screening or surveillance indication over 13 months. Primary outcome was Complete Colonoscopy (CC): to cecum/ileum/anastomosis, adequate prep, < 90 days from gastroenterology contact. This study will assess whether these testing resources have changed attitudes of previous donors on donation and their likelihood to donate again.

Introduction: Glioblastoma (GBM) often extends to deep supratentorial locations, which limits the extent of maximal safe resection. Deep supratentorial extension (DSE) may be a clinically convenient prognostic indicator following GBM resection.

Methods: 582 GBM resections from 2012-2018 were retrospectively reviewed. DSE was defined as tumoral extension to the basal ganglia, thalamus, corpus callosum, internal capsule, hypothalamus, caudate, or putamen as identified on preoperative imaging.

Introduction: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a medical emergency that may lead to deleterious outcomes unless the underlying cause is determined and managed promptly to prevent further rebleed. Though a significant percentage of cases of SAH have no identifiable pathology, there is a lack of data related to outcomes, predispositions, and whether there has been an increase in the incidence of angiogram negative SAH (anSAH).
