Despite the fact that acute appendicitis is one of the most common surgical emergencies worldwide, delays in establishing a diagnosis still occur. We report a case of acute appendicitis with an atypical presentation based on the patient’s clinical and laboratory findings. A 25-year-old male was brought with pain in his right lower quadrant. Pain migration, fever, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, or dysuria were denied. Laboratory results were within normal limits. USG examination was not able to visualize the appendix. Introduction. Prolonged fasting is a major concern in the postoperative management of congenital duodenal obstruction. Massive dilatation of the proximal segment would lead to diameter discrepancy and lack of propulsion, thus delaying enteral feeding. A transanastomotic feeding tube is an option to deliver early enteral feeding after surgical correction. Aberrant activation of Wnt signaling triggered by mutations in either Adenomatous Polyposis Coli (APC) or CTNNB1 (β-catenin) is a hallmark of colorectal cancers (CRC). As part of a program to develop epigenetic regulators for cancer therapy, we developed carboxamide-substituted benzhydryl amines (CBAs) bearing either aryl or heteroaryl groups that selectively targeted histone lysine demethylases (KDMs) and functioned as inhibitors of the Wnt pathway. A biotinylated variant of N-((5-chloro-8-hydroxyquinolin-7-yl) (4-(diethylamino)phenyl)-methyl)butyramide (CBA-1) identified KDM3A as a binding partner. Dose-limiting toxicities of clinically used agents and development of resistance are two significant limitations in cancer chemotherapy. Microtubule targeting agents (MTAs) are a structurally diverse set of compounds that disrupt microtubule dynamics and exert their anticancer effect. Combination chemotherapy with antiangiogenic agents and microtubule targeting agents has shown an advantage against both these drawbacks. Single agents with dual antiangiogenic activity and cytotoxicity would afford a therapy that circumvents pharmacokinetic problems of multiple agents, avoid drug-drug interactions, lower the drug dose, decrease overlapping toxicities, and delay or prevent tumor cell resistance. Depression is a mental health disorder affecting greater than 350 million people worldwide with roughly 7% of the United States population diagnosed as of 2017. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have been the mainstay of pharmacotherapies for depression for the last 40 years. The SSRIs target the serotonin transporter (SERT), a monoamine transporter (MAT) responsible for terminating serotonergic neurotransmission. The SSRIs are not perfect therapeutics and suffer from delayed response times, inconsistent efficacy among patients, and often produce intolerable side effects. Objective: The purpose of this study was to obtain an understanding of nurse behaviors that promote trust and quality nursing care as perceived by oncology patients with totally implantable vascular access devices (TIVAD).

Methods: An explanatory sequential mixed-method design was used to answer the study questions. This design was comprised of two phases: 1) a quantitative online survey of oncology patients with TIVADs followed by; 2) qualitative interviews using purposively selected patients from the survey sample.

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in treating patients with chronic refractory PTSD using a systematic review.

Methods: Literature search was performed on PubMed and PsychINFO using search terms “PTSD” and “MDMA” to identify randomized control trials within the past 10 years.

Results: Two out of the three studies found statistically significant data in the treatment of refractory PTSD. Mithoefer, M. et al and Ot’alora, M. et. al found a statistically significant decrease in CAPS-IV total scores, decrease in depression symptoms, decreased in dissociative symptoms, and increase in sleep quality.

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of subcutaneous galcanezumab as a preventative treatment for chronic migraines via a systematic review. Methods: JAMA and PubMed databases were searched using the terms galcanezumab and migraines in order to survey resulting patient clinical trials. Results: The 3 studies reviewed here all showed a statistically significant decrease in migraine headache days (MHDs) per month when using galcanezumab.
