Background: The caregivers of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) patients are typically very anxious while the patients are treated in the intensive care unit (ICU). Acute liver failure is a rare but life-threatening complication of severe dengue infection. Besides standard medical treatment, high volume therapeutic plasma exchange (HV-TPE) is a potential management strategy used to reverse hepatic encephalopathy and coagulopathy. HV-TPE, moreover, improves patient survival from acute liver failure due to paracetamol overdose, viral-induced hepatitis, and Wilson disease. The use of HV-TPE in acute liver failure with dengue hemorrhagic fever has never been reported. We, hereby, report a successful treatment with HV-TPE in acute liver failure with dengue hemorrhagic fever.

Many mental disorders are expressed in different characteristics, as a result of cultural factors. These conditions, known as culture-bound syndrome, have been studied in the field of psychiatry and social anthropology. Some mental abnormalities are treated as distinctive psychiatric disorders; many others were not yet clinically recognized. Therefore, patients with the conditions should be evaluated and treated in both psychiatric and cultural practices. It should be noted that, cultural specific mental disorders gradually fade in the age of globalization.

The rehospitalization rate within the first month is 8.0% - 21.0%. Therefore, during the first month after discharge, most patients require help from health care teams. We reported two cases of acute appendicitis in a complicated group of pediatric patients in which the appendix also located at extraordinary sites. A child aged 5 years old experienced abdominal tenderness with the greatest point at lower abdomen. Another child aged 13 years old suffered from symptoms of abdominal pain.
