การติดเชื้อ อัลคาไลจีเนส ฟีคัลลีส ในสุนัข, เกรียงศักดิ์ สายธนู, รัตนาภรณื ปกรณ์ยุทธ

สุนัขพันธุ์ไทยผสม เพศเมีย อายุ ๗ ปี ป่วยโดยมีอาการไข้ อุณหภูมิสูง ซึม เบื่ออาหาร อุจจาระปกติ สัตว์ป่วยมาประมาณ ๒๐ วัน พบว่าสุนัขเป็นโรคติดเชื้อ อัลคาไลจีเนส พี่คัลลีส (Alca ligenes faecalis) หลังจากให้การรักษาด้วยยาปฏิชีวนะ กานามัยซิน เป็นเวลา 5 วัน สุนัขก็หายเป็น ปกติ โดยสัตว์ไม่แสดงอาการของโรค และไม่พบเชื้อนี้อยู่ในกระแสโลหิตเลย

Sertoli Call Tumour, B. Sunyasootcharee

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

A case report of the Sertoli cell tumour in a 4-year-old dog is presented. The neoplasm developed in a testicle which is abnormally retained at the external inguinal ring. Histological examinations reveal all the characteristics described in the literatures typical of the Sertoli Cell tumour. The transition of cellular morphology and the difference of arrangement of the tumour cells from area to area are demonstrated. The cellular arrangement ranges from tubules lined with multi-layers of well-differentiated tumour neoplastic cells to solidly filled tubules. The latter is practically filled with cells. Three groups of the water buffaloes were experimentally infested with Sarcoptes scabiei. A group of two was served as the control and also used for studying the course of the disease; the other two groups were experimented under the indoor and outdoor conditions. The latter two groups were washed with a 1.75% suspension of lime and sulfur once a week for seven consecutive weeks whereas the control received a similar wash with tap water. Both of the treated groups responded to the treatments, recovering completely at the end of the ninth week. The controls were chronically diseased. The course of …

A Study Of Thoracic Skeletomusculature In Peracarida (Crustacea), Donna R. Gill

Masters Theses

Two species of peracarid malacostracans, a mysid, Neomysis americana, and an oniscid isopod, Trachelipus cf. rathkei, were used to study the skeletomusculature system. Serial sections, whole mounts, and gross dissections were made. Coxal promotors and remotors and basal adductors and abductors were the muscle groups examined.

The promotor and remotor muscles of N. americana were found to be numerous, well developed, taking origin primarily from the dorsal thoracic wall, and extending nearly ventrally to insert in the coxa; the adductor muscle and two abductor muscles are weakly developed. Carinomas In The Nasal Passages And Paranasal Sinuses Of Horses, B. Sunyasootcharee

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Two cases of carcinomas in the nasal passages and paranasal sinuses of horses are presented. The first is more malignant and destructive. It destroys and replaces adjacent bony tissues. Apart from localizing in the sinuses and nasal passages, the tumour also penetrates into the cranial cavity. Despite of massive growth, no metastasis is found elsewhere. The second case studied from biopsied materiasl is of lower malignancy.

Factors Involved In The Control Of Gluconeogenesis, Maneewan Kamon Patana

According to Lardy et al. (1964) the key enzymes of gluco-neogenesis are pyruvate carboxylase, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (EC 4.1.132) and L-alanine 2-oxoglutarate amino transferase (EC 2.6.1.2) The activity of these enzymes may be controlling factors in the rate of formation of glucose from amino acid. These key enzymes of gluconeogenesis are founded exclusively in the liver and kidney and significant amounts are not found in other tissues (Exton 1967), Ross (1967), Nishiitsutsuji (1964). The mechanism by which hormonal and dietary effect is expressed on enzyme activity and the rate of gluconeogenesis is obscure, but no definitive evidence supports the theoretical proposal …

The diseases and many conditions and factors which can cause the impairment of egg quality and low egg production are discussed. The association between the incidence of inferior egg quality and respiratory diseases appears to be due to infectious bronchitis and Newcastle disease. โรคต่าง ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นในไก่ที่กำลังอยู่ใน ระยะไข่จะมีผลต่อคุณภาพของไข่ ทำให้ไข่ ถูกคัด ทิ้งเนื่องจาก มีรูปร่าง และ ขนาดไม่ เหมาะสม และไม่มีประสิทธิภาพในการฟัก ในปีหนึ่ง ๆ ประเทศเราต้องสูญเสียเงินไป เพราะไข่ประเภทนี้ไม่น้อย ในประเทศ อังกฤษสูญเสียเงินเพราะการคัดไข่ทิ้ง เนื่อง จากไข่มีคุณภาพต่ำประมาณปีละ 200 ถึง 250 ล้านบาท (Hanson, 1968) คุณภาพต่ำไม่เหมาะที่จะใช้บริโภคและใช้ในไข่ที่มี การฟัก ได้แก่ ไข่ที่มีเปลือกแตกหรือ ไม่สมบูรณ์ เปลือกสกปรก จุดเลือด (blood spots), จุดเนื้อ (meat spots) ไข่ขาวเป็นน้ำ air cells ขยายมากเกินไป ไข่แดงเสีย เป็นต้น การผิดปกติของไข่ ส่วนใหญ่เนื่องจากโรคและมีสาเหตุหรืออื่น ๆ อีกซึ่งจะได้กล่าวต่อไป
