As a result, the parameters using the oil pollution biotesting with the help of these test systems were determined. Oil from the Guneshli oil field was determined to be more toxic. The effects of oil pollution on the physiological parameters of 4 ciliate species - Frontonia marina, Oxytricha fallax, Strombidium conicum, and Euplotes harpa …
Changes In The Whole Body Mineral Concentration Of The Rainbow Trout (Oncorchynchus Mykisswalbaum) Yolk-Sac Fry Exposed To Various Combinations Of Aluminium And Calcium Concentrations In Two Different Acidic Water, Meti̇n Çalta
Turkish Journal of Zoology
The effects of 12 combinations of pH (4.5 and 7.0), aluminium (4 and 8 ?mol/L) and calcium (10 and 100 \mumol/L) on survival and body mineral (Ca, Mg, K and Na) concentrations of rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykissWalbaum) at the yolk-sac stage were investigated. Mortality was low (< 17%) in most combinations and increased (> 27%) in the presence of aluminium and low pH (4.5). Aluminium (4 and 8 ?mol/L) impaired larval development, net uptake of calcium, potassium and sodium, and slightly increased the net loss of magnesium. It was found that these effects of aluminium were more severe at low calcium concentration (10 ?mol/L) and low …

The pericaryons of Gomori (+) nuerons that form the preoptic nuclei had different sizes. These were big and small neurosecretory cells. The adrenal gland of Rana ridibunda had three types of cells, being corticosteroidogenic, catecholaminergic and Stilling cells. Although neurosecretory cells were observed to be generally active at all temperatures administered especially, small neuorosecretory cells were vulnerable …
The Use Of Coefficient Of Difference (Cd) In Systematic Zoology And The Subspecies Concept, C. Can Bi̇lgi̇n
The Use Of Coefficient Of Difference (Cd) In Systematic Zoology And The Subspecies Concept, C. Can Bi̇lgi̇n
Turkish Journal of Zoology
The use of the Coefficient of Difference (CD), which was first suggested some 50 years ago, as a measure of difference of a single character between two populations is not recommended today on grounds of statisticial weakness, its inability to evaluate more than one character simultaneously, and the often discordant variation of the characters studied. It is useful to utilize the statistically proven t-test or analysis of variance in cases when a few characters are studied, while multivariate distance measures such as Euclidian distance or discriminant function analysis will help determine differences between groups and taxon boundaries when many characters …

Taxonomical Comparison Of Populations Of Podarcis Muralis (Sauria: Lacertidae) In Ankara And Bursa, S. Hakan Durmuş
Turkish Journal of Zoology
In this study, the samples of the populations from the Ankara and Bursa regions have been examined, for the first time, from the comparative taxonomic point of view. After comparison of the two separate populations, which are quite far away from each other, it has been seen that the above mentioned populations do not show important differences from each other at the species level. However, some nuance in body size have been noticed between these two populations. Hence, we may say that P. muralis populations in the Ankara and Bursa regions are not different from the nominate subspecies (P.m. muralis).
