Subspecific Status Of Southeastern U.S. Megathymus Cofaqui And M. Yuccae: Renaming Of The Florida Subspecies Of M. Cofaqui, Ronald R. Gatrele
The Taxonomic Report of the International Lepidoptera Survey
Megathymus cofaqui and M. yuccae are both represented in the southeastern United States by two subspecies. The type locality of both M. y. yuccae and M. c. cofaqui is the area of Burke/Screven counties Georgia. Each of their subspecies are primarily Floridian, with M. y. buchholzi extending along the immediate coast of Georgia into southern South Carolina. Topotypes of M. cofaqui from Burke County, Georgia, and Aiken County, South Carolina are phenotypically indistinguishable from both the holotype of M. cofaqui and topotypes of M. c. harrisi. Thus, M …

Discovery of the ostertagiine nematode Teladorsagia boreoarcticus n. sp. in muskoxen, Ovibos moschatus, from the central Canadian Arctic highlights the paucity of knowledge about the genealogical and numerical diversity of nematode faunas characteristic of artiodactyls at high latitudes across the Holarctic. Teladorsagia boreoarcticus is a dimorphic cryptic species distinguished from Teladorsagia circumcincta/Teladorsagia trifurcata in domestic sheep by a 13% divergence in the ND4 region of mitochondrial DNA, constant differences in the synlophe, and significantly longer esophageal valve, spicules, gubernaculum, and bursa. Teladorsagia boreoarcticus represents an archaic component of the North American fauna and may have a Holarctic …

Revisiting The Code: Clarifying Name-Bearing Types For Photomicrographs Of Protozoa, Donald W. Duszynski
Harold W. Manter Laboratory of Parasitology: Faculty Publications
In 1988, Bandoni and Duszynski argued that individuals involved in the taxonomy and systematics of the coccidia should become familiar with the 3rd edition of the Code of Zoological Nomenclature (Ride et aI., 1985) and tried to reiterate the importance and utility of designating some form of type specimens and archiving them in appropriate museums. Their intent was to create an awareness among biologists working with coccidia (or other protists) of the value of designating type specimens. In the decade since their admonition, bench scholars working with coccidia, and journal editors to whom they submit their work, have begun …

Chemistry Faculty Publications
We describe the emission spectral properties of two rhenium metal-ligand complexes with one and two-photon excitation, Re(bpy)2(CO)3Cl and [Re(bpy)(CO)3CH3CN]+, where bpy is 2,2’-bipyridyl and CH3CN is acetonitrile. Similar emission spectra and intensity decay times characteristic of the metal-to-ligand charge transfer state were observed for one- and two-photon excitation. The lifetime and quantum yield of the acetonitrile complex are approximately 14-fold higher than that of the chloride complex. Both complexes display high anisotropies near 0.33 in frozen solution with one-photon excitation. Two-photon excitation results in anisotropies about 40% larger, …

In this study, rexuirement assumption of 8 different sort of paper used in our country is aimed to be done. Factors that can affect paper consumption are considered as variety of wholesale price indexes in paper products and printing industry, import, export, gross national product and population. As it is known, that requirement predictions are carried out by SEKA, too. But, SEKA take into account only population in the prediction. In calculations, multiple regression and correlation methods are used. As a result, it is shown that besides population other factors could affect the prediction and prediction for the paper-cartoon were …
