The harvest spider fauna of Caucasus is reviewed. A new collection of 10 species (Fam. Phalangiidae, Trogulidae) from different parts of the Caucasus are dealt with. Some identifications are not clear. For clarification some more revisions are necessary in the future.

The rotifera fauna of Abant lake was studied taxonomically from January to November 1997. A total of 22 rotifer species were identified. Of these, 18 are new for Abant lake and 4 are new for Turkey.

This paper presents the results of studies on the helminth fauna of the green toad, Bufo viridis, in Uzbekistan. Twently helminth species were identified. The highest diversity of helminths was recorded in toads in the newly-built districts of Tashkent (1966-76). The helminth fauna of the toads inhabiting foothills was less common.

Investigations On The Ornitho - Fauna Of Turkish Thrace I, Mustafa Kaya, Selçuk Yurtsever, Cengi̇z Kurtonur

In this study, the results of observations made in different localities (Edirne and environs, the Istranca Mountains, Iğneada and environs) of the Thrace region are evaluated. Field work was carried out during the period 1987-1996, comprising a total of 228 working days in the field. The findings were discussed and compared with data currently available in the literature. As a result, 179 species belonging to 50 families were recorded. These species and related data are collated in a table. The importance of the region and the problems that threaten the ornito-fauna are discussed.

Studies were carried out to establish the family of Pentatomidae within 50 localities in Edirne and its provinces during the seasons of spring, summer and autumn of 1992-1994. Thus, 7 species, 6 genus of Podopinae; 2 species, 2 genus of Asopinae; 25 species, 16 genus of Pentatominae and as a total of 34 species, 24 genus, 3 subfamilies, belong to the family of Pentatomidae were determined. Moreover, with regard to the locality numbers, Sciocoris (Aposciocoris) luteolus, Aelia virgata, Arma custos, Mustha spinosula and Neottiglossa bifida have also been accepted to have rare distribution. An Evaluation On The Fauna Of Vespoidea (Hymenoptera, Aculeata) Of Turkey, Along With New Records And New Localities For Some Species, Erol Yildirim, Hi̇kmet Özbek

Studies so far conducted in Turkey on the species of Vespoidea were reviewed. Including the new taxa determined in this study, a total of 234 species and 48 subspecies belonging to 51 genera have been recorded in Turkey so far. The new records for Turkish fauna are Alastor esfandiarii Giordani Soika, Brachyodynerus kopetdagicus Kostylev and Ischnogasteroides picteci tenuis (Morawitz) in the family Eumenidae. Important diagnostic characters of these species and subspecies are described and shown in figures. Furthermore, it was determined that 2 genera, 57 species and 25 subspecies had type localities in Turkey. In addition, new localities were found …

After a review of the literature on the Tabanidae fauna of Turkey, it was found that 156 species and 12 subspecies have been reported. Twelve of the species are from the subfamily Pangoninae, 19 species and 2 subspecies are from the subfamiy Chrysopsinae and 125 species and 10 subspecies are from the subfamily Tabaninae.

Birds of Karapınar -Konya have been studied between 1994 and 1995. In which months these species are seen have been determined. 151 species determined belong to 16 orders and 46 families. A different geological and geographical region of Turkey have been shown to inhabit a very rich avifauna. Thus, this study aims to introduce this region, which will contribute to the conservation of the region from various respects( erosion, hunting etc.).

This study was carried out to determine oribatid mite fauna,their seasonal fluctuations and the species which acts as intermediate hosts of anoplocephalid cestodes in the province of Konya. Soil samples were taken monthly from Bozkır, Ilgın, Karabağ, Karapınar and Yarma between September 1993 and September 1995. They were extracted with a modified Berlese-Tullgreen apparatus. The oribatid mites collected from the soil samples were preserved in glycerol until examination. Specimens were cleared in lactic acid before microscopic observation. Sixtyfour species of Tabanidae (Diptera) were determinated in Trakya region of Turkey by this study. Eight of these, Chrysops relictus Meig., Dasyramphis anthracinus (Meig.), Atylotus latistriatus (Brauer), A. venturii Leclercq, Hybomitra bimaculata (Macq.), H. pilosa (Loew), Tabanus maculicornis Zetterstedt, Haematopota gallica Szi., are new records for Tabanidae fauna of Turkey. 33 out of 64 species were recorded by their distribution patterns in Trakya region for the first time. The number of Tabanidae species in Trakya region reached to 74 with this study and the previous records.

The present study was undertaken to determine the fauna of Geometridae in Turkish Thrace. Samples were collected from 81 different localities between 19911993. Results show that Geometridae is represented with a total of 115 species belonging to 67 genus of 5 subfamilies as follows : Archiearinae; 1 genus and 1 species, Geometrinae; 4 genus and 4 species, Scopulinae; 7 genus and 41 species, Larentiinae; 22 genus and 31 species, Ennominae; 33 genus and 38 species.
