E-recruitment, an Internet-based approach for recruitment, has been shown to be an efficient method for organizations to reach a target candidate population. However, challenges with recruitment websites have resulted in high rates of job seekers abandoning an online application before completion. A quantitative meta-analytic review of literature from 2009 to 2019 was conducted to determine the relationship between applicant user experience (UX) when interacting with an organization’s e-recruitment website, applicant perceptions of the hiring organization, and applicant behaviors related to pursuing employment. Organizational leaders are challenged with loss of productivity due to lack of employee engagement, making employee engagement a top priority for organizational executives worldwide. Grounded in Emerson’s social exchange theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationship between manager-employee relationship and employee rewards and employee engagement. Employees (N = 31) of a U.S. organization completed the Intrinsic Work Rewards Survey, Extrinsic Rewards on Creativity Measure, and the Work and Well-being Survey. The results of the multiple linear regression indicated a statistically significant relationship, F(2, 28) = 32.875, p < .001, R2 = .701. Employee rewards was the only statistically significant predictor of employee engagement (t = 6.074, p < .001). A recommendation is for organizational leaders to establish reward programs that address employee needs for compensation, achievement, and development. This implications for positive social change include the potential for employees to benefit from financial stability and well-being. The organization may achieve higher performance and profitability, enabling the organization to invest in job creation and community economic development.

Small nonprofit organizations, with annual budgets of $500,000 or less, are assigned many obligations by external stakeholders while conducting their mission-related work. However, little is known about the impact of these obligations or mandates being received from their external stakeholders, which rarely have funding allocated to minimize any capacity impact they create. Ineffective Lean Six Sigma (LSS) project strategies can lead to excessive Lean Six Sigma (LSS) project costs. Manufacturing business leaders who fail to mitigate LSS project costs expose the LSS project to failure. Grounded in the theory of constraints, the purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore successful strategies LSS project leaders use to mitigate project costs in manufacturing.
