Gal Pals: The Importance Of Mentorship For The Advancement Of Women In The Workplace, Lilly Hanko
Senior Honors Projects
Most of the past studies conducted on mentoring are not specific to the experiences of women. More and more research is starting to focus on women in particular, and this allows us to better understand the importance of mentoring on the career development of women. Women often struggle with finding and leveraging mentors. A woman-to-woman mentoring relationship is one of the most valuable and impactful resource a woman can have in terms of her career growth and success. This paper will review the benefits of mentoring women, what women seek in mentoring relationships and the key components of effective mentorship, …

Demand Analysis Of Vietnamese Coffee In The U.S., Leo Kyaw Zin
Theses and Dissertations--Agricultural Economics
Coffee production in Vietnam has increased almost 100-fold within the past three decades, positioning it to become the second-largest coffee exporter in the world after Brazil. The U.S. is a top market for Vietnamese coffee. In this study, we estimate a conditional demand system of expenditure share equations for coffee from Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, and an aggregate of seven other countries in the U.S. coffee market using the Linear Approximation Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS) and based on monthly time-series data from 2000 to 2020 with a total of 252 observations. Compensated and uncompensated own-price, cross-price, and expenditure elasticities were …
Spent Hemp As An Animal Feed And Vertical Price Transmission In Us Hemp Value-Added Supply Chain, Solomon E. Odiase
Spent Hemp As An Animal Feed And Vertical Price Transmission In Us Hemp Value-Added Supply Chain, Solomon E. Odiase
Theses and Dissertations--Agricultural Economics
This thesis comprises of two articles covering spent hemp's prospects as an animal feed and the price interaction across the hemp commodity value-added supply chain. The first article uses a comparative analysis tool to analyze the potential of spent hemp as an animal feed or feed ingredient based on its yield, nutritional composition and market price. This comparative advantage analysis revealed that spent hemp is competitive based on its rich essential nutritional content, comparatively high yield per acre, and low market price. Furthermore, with the increasing drought conditions, production cost and market price of alfalfa hay, spent hemp may fill …

Looking at data from recent surveys showing that electric vehicles take up a meager 2.2% of the market share for passenger vehicles around the world, (Gilbert, 2021) it is safe to say that there is a lot of progress to be made if world governments hope to become carbon neutral within the half-century. This paper focuses on the accumulation of opinions and research regarding the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles in the United States, while focusing primarily on how tax benefits or credits could affect the adoption trends. We will provide information on the current climate of the electric vehicle …

Relationship Between The Employee Incentive System, Employee Development System, And Employee Work-Related Stress, Ali Sattea Ali Al Ajaj
Relationship Between The Employee Incentive System, Employee Development System, And Employee Work-Related Stress, Ali Sattea Ali Al Ajaj
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Business owners are concerned with employee work-related stress, as it is the most important predictor of employee incentives and employee development practices. Grounded in Siegrist’s theory of effort/reward imbalance, the purpose of this quantitative correlation study was to examine the relationship between employee incentive, employee development, and employee work-related stress. The participants were 88 employees of a private power sector organization who completed the SurveyMonkey link questionnaires and complied with the survey inclusion criteria. The results of the multiple linear regression were significant, F (2, 85) = 7.167, p < 0.05, R2 = 0.144. In the final model, employee development was significant (t = 3.306, p = .001, β = 0.340) and incentive was nonsignificant. A key recommendation is for business leaders and managers to develop their employees by creating development working practices, acknowledging employees’ achievements, and providing the best employee career programs. The implications for positive social change include the potential to mitigate any employee’s work-related stress and thus support the local community workforce.
