The question of God’s wrath is an old thorny problem for Christian theology. Simply expressed, one wonders how can a loving God be angry when anger is associated with a loss of temper, and a loss of self-control, and love is expressed in forbearance, patience, and graciousness. Can love be angry?
Yet, the scriptures speak often about an angry God (Nehemiah 1:6; Mark 3:5; and John 2:13-17).
Some treated this problem as only a human metaphor. Others as a pedagogical tool. Cultural anthropologists saw in it a vestige of primitive fear of taboos.

"Twenty-five years ago, Huston Smith wrote an article called Tao Now 1 to enlist the help of traditional Chinese attitudes toward nature in expanding the West's environmental awareness. If my interrogative betrays a greater diffidence than his imperative, it is only because China, the land of the Tao, lacks an enviable environmental record. Ethics concerns every aspect of human life. This, logically, issues out of the Biblical view of the unity of human nature. Education, while compartmentalized didactically for the purpose of specialization, cannot be complete unless some interdisciplinary and essentially human needs are met as well. Seventh-day Adventist graduates in colleges Should not be only excellent nurses, skillful secretaries, money-making businessmen but also outstanding Christians within their vocation. The world does not need to see how one can be a Christian within the church building or setting. Rather, what difference does it make to see a Christian physician as compared to a …
