The Bridge
During the months of October and November 2008, I interned on the Harriman-Nielsen Farm in Hampton, Iowa. The Danish American Heritage Society was looking for a Danish intern to assist the Harriman-Nielsen Farm board in the process of creating an interpretive exhibition, which would tell the stories of the estate. I immediately thought it would be a good place for me to apply my professional training in a combination of dramaturgy and museology. I find it interesting to introduce theatre elements into a museum context.

Hedonism claims that only pleasure has intrinsic value. Many philosophers contest hedonism by arguing that other things, in addition to pleasure, have intrinsic value. This report discusses the archaeological investigations conducted by the Indiana State University Archaeology and Quaternary Research Laboratory (formally Anthropology Laboratory—ISUAL) at the James Farnsley site (12Hr520) located in the Caesars Indiana development, Harrison County, Indiana. Phase II testing and Phase III data recovery of the extensive buried Early Archaic deposits were undertaken between October 1997 and September 2000.

Educators appropriately strive to create "assessment cultures" (Huot 2002) in which they integrate evaluation into teaching and learning and match assessment methods with best instructional practice. But how do teachers and administrators establish the values that underlie their evaluations? Bob Broad's 2003 volume, What We Really Value, introduced dynamic criteria mapping (DCM) as a method for eliciting locally-informed, context-sensitive criteria for writing assessments. The soul may be thought of as that part of the personality that processes an individual’s highest values. Humanly this may also be thought of as the conscience, an integral part of the soul. This short essay suggests that a Christian has a wonderful secret life within him that must be managed to help him through the day-to-day challenges of life.
