Gabbard จากคำศัพท์ที่คัดสรรทั้งสิ้น 30 คำ โดยมีสมมติฐานของการวิจัยว่า แนวทางการวิเคราะห์ตัวบทของคริสติอาเน นอร์ด แนวทางการแปลแบบตีความและยึดความหมายของฌอง เดอลิล แนวทางการสร้างคำในภาษาอังกฤษของอิงโก แพลก แนวทางการแปลคำสร้างใหม่ของปีเตอร์ นิวมาร์ก และหลักเกณฑ์การบัญญัติศัพท์ของราชบัณฑิตยสถานของมงคล เดชนครินทร์ จะสามารถนำมาประยุกต์ใช้ในกระบวนการแปลคำศัพท์ทางจิตเวชศาสตร์ที่คัดสรร เพื่อให้สามารถถ่ายทอดความหมายของคำศัพท์ได้อย่างถูกต้อง มีลักษณะของความเป็นศัพท์เฉพาะทาง ผลการวิจัยแสดงให้เห็นว่า แนวทางการวิเคราะห์ตัวบท แนวทางการแปลแบบตีความและยึดความหมาย แนวทางการสร้างคำในภาษาอังกฤษ แนวทางการแปลคำสร้างใหม่ และหลักเกณฑ์การบัญญัติศัพท์ สามารถนำมาใช้เพื่อแปลคำศัพท์ทางจิตเวชศาสตร์ได้ตามสมมติฐาน

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ศึกษาข้อบกพร่องที่พบในการแปลป้ายข้อมูลของพิพิธภัณฑ์และวิธีการแก้ไข โดยคัดสรรบทแปลจากป้ายข้อมูลนิทรรศการของศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อการศึกษา (ท้องฟ้าจำลองกรุงเทพ) เพื่อให้ได้บทแปลที่สามารถใช้งานได้ตามวัตถุประสงค์ มีอรรถสาระและเนื้อหาเหมาะสมกับผู้รับสารปลายทาง ผู้ศึกษาได้ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยค้นคว้าแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการแปลตัวบทพิพิธภัณฑ์ (Guillot, 2014; Neather, 2005; Sturge, 2007) แนวทางการวิเคราะห์ตัวบทประเภทสารคดีของคริสติอาเน นอร์ด (2005) แนวคิดการจำแนกหมวดหมู่ของข้อบกพร่องในการแปลโดยคริสติอาเน นอร์ด (1997) กลวิธีการแก้ไขงานแปลที่เกี่ยวข้อง (วัลยา วิวัฒน์ศร, 2547; มกุฏ อรฤดี, 2560; Mossop, 2007) ทฤษฎีสโคพอส (Skopostheorie) นำเสนอโดยฮันส์ แฟร์เมียร์ (1996) แนวคิดเรื่อง Scene-and-Frames Semantics นำเสนอโดยชาร์ลส ฟิลล์มอร์ (1977) แนวทางการแปลแบบตีความและยึดความหมาย (Interpretive Approach) นำเสนอโดยฌอง เดอลิลส์ (1988) และความรู้ว่าด้วยไวยากรณ์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับข้อบกพร่องในการแปลที่พบ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการนำทฤษฎีและแนวคิดต่างๆ ข้างต้นมาประยุกต์ใช้ร่วมกัน สามารถระบุข้อบกพร่องในบทแปลและแก้ไขข้อบกพร่องได้

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์วรรณกรรมแนวฮีโรอิกแฟนตาซีชุด เดอะ มอร์ทอล อินสตรูเมนตส์ ของคาสซานดรา แคลร์ ซึ่งเป็นวรรณกรรมนำเสนอการวิจารณ์แนวคิดที่ปรากฏในพระคัมภีร์ไบเบิล คือการกีดกันด้านเผ่าพันธุ์ ชนชั้น และเพศ อันเป็นแนวคิดที่นำมาสู่การสร้างความรุนแรงในสังคม โดยการใช้ลักษณะของแฟนตาซีสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการวิจารณ์แนวคิดดังกล่าวได้ชัดเจนขึ้น ผลการศึกษาพบว่า วรรณกรรมชุด เดอะ มอร์ทอล อินสตรูเมนตส์ สร้างโลกสมมติเพื่อแสดงให้เห็นถึงการกีดกันและการใช้ความรุนแรงด้านเผ่าพันธุ์ ชนชั้น และเพศ ผ่านตัวละครหลากหลายเผ่าพันธุ์ที่มีสถานะเป็นตัวแทนของคนในสังคม ซึ่งความรุนแรงจากการกีดกันดังกล่าวสร้างบาดแผลทั้งทางกายและจิตใจให้แก่คนในสังคม ซึ่งเป็นบาดแผลจากการสูญเสียคนในครอบครัวและการสูญเสียตัวตน ขณะเดียวกัน วรรณกรรมชุดดังกล่าวยังแสดงให้เห็นถึงความสำคัญของการเยียวยาบาดแผล อาทิ การเรียนรู้ที่จะยอมรับตัวตนของตนเอง การมอบความรัก ความอบอุ่นแก่คนในคนครอบครัว การสร้างความเข้าใจถึงความแตกต่างในสังคมเพื่อสนับสนุนการอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างเท่าเทียมและยอมรับความแตกต่าง

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประเด็นเรื่องเรือนร่างที่ปรากฏในอาชญนิยายร่วมสมัยแนวฆาตกรต่อเนื่องของประเทศอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่นตั้งแต่ปีคริสต์ศักราช 2000 ถึงปัจจุบัน อาชญนิยายของอเมริกาที่คัดสรรมาศึกษาได้แก่เรื่องเดอะ เดธ คอลเลคเตอร์ส์ (The Death Collectors, 2006) ของแจ็ค เคอร์เลย์ (Jack Kerley) มือเพชฌฆาต (The Executioner, 2010) ของคริส คาร์เตอร์ (Chris Carter) และซีรีส์เรื่องฮันนิบาล ปี 1 (Hannibal Season 1, 2013) ของไบรอัน ฟุลเลอร์ (Bryan Fuller) ส่วนอาชญนิยายของญี่ปุ่นได้แก่เรื่องโกธ คดีตัดข้อมือ (2005) ของโอสึอิจิ ราตรีสีเลือด (2008) ของฮนดะ เท็ตสึยะ เลสซัน ออฟ ดิ อีวิล (Lesson of the Evil, 2012) ของมิอิเคะ ทาคาชิ และมิวเซียมเล่ม 1-3 (Museum: The serial killer is laughing in the rain, 2014) ของเรียวสุเกะ โทโมเอะ จากการศึกษาพบว่าตัวบทคัดสรรทั้ง 7 เรื่องได้บรรยายถึงเรือนร่างของตัวละครฆาตกร นักสืบและเหยื่ออย่างละเอียด โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการบรรยายถึงเรือนร่างของเหยื่อนั้นเผยให้เห็นร่างกายที่ถูกกระทำความรุนแรงอย่างน่าสะพรึงกลัวและน่าขยะแขยง ซึ่งแตกต่างจากอาชญนิยายในอดีตที่มักไม่นำเสนอเรือนร่างในลักษณะดังกล่าว การนำเสนอเรือนร่างที่น่ากลัวและน่าขยะแขยงในตัวบทคัดสรรนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการผสมผสานระหว่างลักษณะของอาชญนิยายกับลักษณะของวรรณกรรมแนวโกธิค ซึ่งชี้ให้เห็นประเด็นเกี่ยวกับเรือนร่าง 3 ประเด็นหลักด้วยกัน ได้แก่ประเด็นเรื่องสังคมเมือง ศาสนา และการบริโภค การศึกษาเรือนร่างใน 3 ประเด็นดังกล่าวนี้เผยให้เห็นความคล้ายคลึงกันระหว่างตัวบทของอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่น กล่าวคือตัวบทของทั้งสองประเทศนำเสนอประเด็นเรื่อง "การล่วงล้ำ" (Transgression) ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงการทลายเส้นแบ่งและกรอบเกณฑ์ต่าง ๆ อันเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญอย่างหนึ่งที่มักถูกกล่าวถึงในอาชญนิยาย และเปิดเผยให้เห็น "ความไร้ระเบียบ" (Chaos) อันเป็นลักษณะอย่างหนึ่งของวรรณกรรมแนวโกธิค โดยการล่วงล้ำดังกล่าวแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ด้านด้วยกันได้แก่ การล่วงล้ำระหว่างเพศชายกับหญิง การล่วงล้ำระหว่างภายนอกกับภายในเรือนร่าง และการล่วงล้ำกฎเกณฑ์ของสังคม ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงมุมมองเกี่ยวกับเรือนร่างในสังคมอเมริกาและญี่ปุ่นที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปจากอดีต

Flannery O’Connor described herself as “a Catholic peculiarly possessed of a modern consciousness” (HB 90). What makes her such a fascinating author is that she was almost uncannily sensitive to what Charles Taylor has analyzed in his large study A Secular Age as the fraught spiritual cross-currents of late modernity. Decades before Taylor described the modern secular social imaginary as a haunted space, O’Connor wrote in an essay that “if the South is hardly Christ-centered, it is most certainly Christhaunted” (MM 44). This dissertation seeks to contribute to the understanding of the formation of collective memory of State violence in Argentina, Chile, and Mexico. By comparing these three cases, I pursue to discern how citizens can challenge the silence and amnesia that the groups in power want to impose on society after a period of State terrorism. The Coastal Review
This study shows that Aurora Bertrana’s novels subvert the traditional Bildungsroman and uses the techniques of the Novel of Female Development with (auto) biographical characteristics. The core of my analysis is in the friction, the disruption and the confrontation between the subject and the social system represented by the family, the school and the community. Bertrana’s novels underline that men, similarly to women, are under a strong pressure to adopt a specific role according to heterosexual norms. Bertrana’s work demonstrate that women writers, like men, can introduce social, cultural and political innovations and experiment with a new literature genre.

Ecofeminism has permeated the disciplines of politics, philosophy, science, and literature – all of which are embedded in the fiction of Barbara Kingsolver’s Prodigal Summer and Ruth Ozeki’s All Over Creation. In his article "Burroughs as a Political Writer?" Alexander Greiffenstern discusses political elements in William S. Burroughs's work. Greiffenstern looks at Burroughs's text "The Coming of the Purple Better One" written for Esquire about the Democratic National Convention in Chicago 1968. By writing a surprisingly personal text, Burroughs might have captured something about the significance of the convention that many later historical accounts miss. In her article "The Greek Beat and Underground Scene of the 1960s and 1970s" Eftychia Mikelli discusses the renewed interest in the Beat Generation in Greece. She argues that it is less known that the Beats exercised significant influence upon Greek underground literature and culture in the sixties and seventies, inspiring the development of a Greek Beat "hybrid." Bearing the influences of US-American Beat, new writing emerged which was also shaped by a distinctively Athenian social and cultural context, eventually leading to the formation of the Greek "Scene."
