The internship is an integral part of most Construction Management curricula. Studies have noted the importance and reciprocal value of internships for the student, the employer, and the academic program. However, to date, no studies have specifically outlined the value internships provide to the CM program for assessment and evaluation. This paper examines the value of the CM internship as an indirect measure to assess and incorporate change into program curricula. With 10 years of qualitative and quantitative data collected from CM student interns, industry employers, and university internship supervisors, this study supports that CM internships are a valuable tool …

The objective was to re-think evidence-based lighting design approaches for residential, working/educational, and healthcare spaces, in order to develop a novel cross-disciplinary eLearning platform, that intersects lighting design and current peer-reviewed health research through a select combination of the most relevant research, methods, and tools. Since the introduction of seismic design provisions in U.S. building codes and standards, a single generally-accepted method has existed for determining seismic design forces on diaphragms. Recently, an alternate procedure was introduced in the Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures (ASCE 7-16) (ASCE, 2016), and an additional alternate procedure is introduce in its next edition ASCE 7-22 (ASCE, 2022) for single-story rigid-wall flexible-diaphragm (RWFD) buildings. Syrian refugees in Lebanon are a major challenge at the social, economic and psychological levels, in addition to the issue of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in the wake of the Naksaa of 1948. The main hypothesis of this study is that the difficult circumstances experienced by the displaced may affect their personality traits. The sample consisted of 430 individuals, (n=204) Syrian refugees and (n=226) Palestinian refugees of both sexes.
