This research outlines the development of a generative des ign workflow for the architectural space planning of a 1,200 sq.m office located in Dublin, Ireland, and the application of statistical analysis and data visualisation for the optioneering of gen erated models. First, the paper defines a computational desig n model with the potential to generate a variety of office layouts, including circulation routes and desk locations. It then identifies three unique performance metrics that evaluate each design option. This collection is intended to evoke the sensory details that are intensified by grayscale photography. Although photography is a visual arts medium, it possesses the potential to engage the viewers’ auditory, tactical, and olfactory senses. The color symbolism theory argues that through natural association and psychological symbolism, colors have specific connotations and therefore, elicit certain emotions. If this is, in fact, the case, what then can be gained from an image that is void of color? Este estudio tiene el propósito de determinar los aportes del cemento a la arquitectura republicana en un período de tiempo comprendido entre 1910-1932, en Bogotá, Colombia. Para esta época se adelantaban procesos de industrialización en la capital del país y el cemento fue novedoso aportando a la evolución técnica, ornamental y funcional de la arquitectura. Esto se logró determinar gracias al análisis de tres casos de estudio: El Quiosco de la Luz (1910), El Edifi cio Pedro A. The rural areas on the perimeter of Kayseri present a rich heritage and culture environment threatened by recent urban development. This paper focuses on the valley settlements on the northeast of the city in Gesi and Koramaz valleys, some of which date from as early as the Medieval period and whose population was multi-ethnic and multi-religious until the middle of the 20th century. The various determinants of vernacular architecture embrace ethnic cultural diversity, morals, climate, cultural and geographical setting, topography, political attitude, religion and language spoken which shaped the rural built heritage in Fındıklı in the Black Sea region. Yet, climate change hazards such as river flooding, more frequent erosion and landslides affect not only local communities’ livelihoods but also the rural cultural landscape.
