The School of Practical Art is maintained for all persons who have an innate love for and interest in art, who desire to confine their study to commercial art; whose amateur efforts in drawing show a talent sufficient to make admission advisable. No examination or previous study is necessary, unless the student wishes to enter upon advanced work. Students are received at any times, providing there are vacancies. The Student will be given every encouragement and constant help. Personal ability will determine progress and the nature of the work pursued.

This article describes an art installation in Athy, Co. Kildare created by transition year students of Athy College to commemorate their school’s connection with the centenary of the casting of the first Garda station plaques in 1922 in the Duthie. Large Foundry, Chapel Street Athy. The installation was unveiled on 14 May 2022 on the original foundry site supported by a grant from Kildare County Council’s Decade of Commemorations and mentored by staff of Technological University Dublin. The School of Practical Art as its name implies is devoted entirely to the teaching of only such branches of drawing as have a commercial value and fills a long felt want among art students with a living to make. By a new and direct method of instruction which is entirely individual, the student may acquire in a remarkable short time the really practical knowledge of modern Commercial Art; its application in all its branches; its rendering in all the various mediums ect., which is absolutely necessary to pursue art as a business with any assurance of success.

A brief essay by Mr. Rowe of the RISD Museum and a brief article by Mrs. Radeke about the RISD Museum were also included. Poems and sport news were also featured. This was published by the Athletic Association of RISD.
