Prior research documents race and ethnicity as central to how individuals navigate the social and physical space of prisons. Racial segregation persists as a feature of prison life, and in navigating this racialized structure, racial groups construct and enforce a set of racialized norms to govern behavior (i.e., the “racial code”) that reinforce and reify prison racial politics. These processes, however, have remained largely descriptive in nature. Using data from a sample of incarcerated men in Arizona prisons (N = 251), this article extends prior work by operationalizing the concept of the racial code, assessing its dimensionality, distinguishing it from …

In this institutional ethnography, multiple methods are used to explore California’s process of establishing limited conservatorships, which are legal proceedings that limit or terminate civil rights of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This research uses observations of 93 conservatorship hearings, 16 interviews with people involved in the conservatorship process, and an analysis of over 40 documents related to these legal proceedings. These data are used to answer two questions: 1) what is the process of establishing a limited conservatorship in California; and 2) how is this process experienced by those involved?

This is a semi-experimental study that aims at measuring the impact of CANVA on the learning of ninth graders in a Jordanian school of HTML. 50 female ninth graders were randomly selected from 72 students in Aisha Bint Abi Baker school, and were distributed to two groups; control, which was taught traditionally, and experimental, which was taught with CANVA to learn HTML as a part of their computer curriculum. This analysis is often referred to as volatile memory analysis, and is generally performed on memory captures acquired from target systems. This article examines the main psychological phenomena of group decision-making, both positive and negative, and considers their implications for panel courts and other groups of professional legal decision-makers such as adjudicators serving on tribunals. Latent print evidence collected from crime scenes are analyzed and compared by examiners using the ACE-V protocol (Analysis, Comparison, Evaluation-Verification) to identify potential suspects. However, smudged and poor-quality prints, usually deemed inconclusive, could be utilized for source association or discrimination based on the chemistry of the oils and sweat that comprises the latent print residue (LPR). For this research, LPRs were collected from various places on the face and analyzed via two-dimensional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (2D GC-MS), one-dimensional (1D) GC-MS, and direct analysis in real time-high resolution mass spectrometry (DART-HRMS). This study analyzes the multiple factors affecting the decomposition of pigs in the Minnesota Winter/Early Spring within the first twelve weeks postmortem. The winters in the Minnesota River Valley can vary in regard to weather patterns and temperature changes. Adding the variable of location and accessibility to the study creates a mix of important research conducted in a less populated area. The number of incarcerations has been climbing drastically, especially in the United States. A forgotten minority which remains understudied is those children of incarcerated individuals. Many studies have found parental separation to be associated with problematic behavior in children. However, little to no information is known on the attitudes of offspring of incarcerated people toward law enforcement and the police. The current study examined just this, researching children of incarcerated parents’ attitudes towards legitimacy and confidence in the police during adulthood. Mental health outcomes, especially post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), in police have become more of a concern for law enforcement administrators, peers, family and friends. Using culture as a theoretical framework, the current cross-sectional, convergent mixed methods study explored the relationship between personal cumulative exposure to different types of critical incidents and likelihood of reporting PTSD symptoms in a sample of officers (n=71) from one municipal police department. บทความวิชาการนี้เป็นการศึกษาอิสระและนำเสนอเรื่องการเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดีอินเดีย ตั้งแต่การสถาปนาประเทศถึงปัจจุบัน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์สังคมพหุลักษณ์ของอินเดียและปณิธานทางสังคมผ่านตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดี โดยเก็บข้อมูลระดับทุติยภูมิและระดับตติยภูมิ จากหน่วยงานรัฐและสำนักข่าวอินเดีย ผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นถึง (ก) ความสำคัญของการคัดผู้สมัครที่เหมาะสมโดยพรรคการเมืองและพันธมิตร ซึ่งเป็นตัวแปรในการกำหนดหรือไม่ว่าจะส่งเสริมอัตลักษณ์ทางการเมือง (ข) การเลือกของคณะเลือกตั้ง เป็นขั้นตอนตัดสิน มุ่งเป้าตามความโน้มเอียงของพรรค (ค) บริบททางการเมือง สังคม และการเปลี่ยนยุค ส่งผลให้เกิดการปรับสูตรการคัดบุคคลที่มีอัตลักษณ์ทางสังคมตามปรารถนา นี่จึงเป็นการแสดงออกถึงพหุลักษณ์และเอื้อให้อัตลักษณ์ของบุคคลเป็นต้นแบบ เป็นปณิธานทางสังคม และสร้างแรงกระเพื่อมเชิงสร้างสรรค์ ดังนั้น ตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีอินเดียจึงมีบทบาทสำคัญในการเชิดชูสังคมพหุลักษณ์ เคารพต่อวรรณะ ชาติพันธุ์ และศาสนา โดยเฉพาะกรณีหลัง ค.ศ.2000 เมื่อตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีได้แสดงออกมากขึ้นและน่ายกย่องกับบทบาททางสังคมวัฒนธรรมในอินเดีย
