Introduction: This study assessed the validity of a non-immersive body motion tracking system (TRAZER) as an alternative to using Inertial Measurement Units (IMU)-based motion capture (MyoMotion) for lower extremity kinematic analysis. Methods: Twenty healthy participants (10 females, 10 males) with a mean age of 24.03 years (range: 20-33 years) and a mean BMI of 25.15 kg/m² (range: 18.45-32.23 kg/m²) performed double and single-leg squats. INTRODUCTION: Available data on robotic ureteral reconstruction procedures is concentrated from high volume centers. To better understand generalizability of success, we used a network of healthcare organizations (HCOs) to evaluate surgical success following robotic-assisted pyeloplasty (RP), ureteral reimplantation (RR), and ureteroureterostomy/ureteroplasty (RU).

Premature infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) are frequently exposed to excessive handling, light, and noise, which can disrupt sleep and hinder growth. This project investigates whether current caregiving schedules at Deaconess Henderson Hospital’s NICU support adequate rest and development in preterm neonates. Analysis revealed an absence of clear policies regarding clustered care, inconsistent implementation, and limited staff understanding of its evidence-based benefits. Purpose of Review: This review synthesizes recent developments in vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) for stroke rehabilitation from 2021–2025, emphasizing the transition from experimental approaches to clinical implementation following FDA approval of implantable VNS. Recent Findings: The 2021 FDA approval of the Vivistim Paired VNS System marked a watershed moment in stroke neuromodulation, providing the first regulatory-approved VNS therapy for upper extremity motor recovery. Long-term follow-up studies demonstrate sustained benefits at one year, with 66% of patients achieving clinically meaningful improvements. In this study, for the first time rat plasma microsampling was carried out by means of in situ-generated volumetric dried plasma spot (vDPS) technology and applied to the determination of the neuroprotective agent edaravone and its sulphate and glucuronide metabolites. Sampling was performed using Telimmune® plasma separation cards (vPSC), which allow the formation of volumetrically accurate dried plasma spots (3 µL) from blood drops deposited on them. After accelerated forced drying and solvent extraction in methanol, drying and redissolution, analytes were baseline separated and quantified through an original HPLC-MS/MS analytical method. BACKGROUND: With growing evidence pointing towards the potential of integrative oncology modalities (IOM) in addressing cancer and cancer-treatment related symptoms, research on IOM utilization and implementation is warranted. This study examines global stakeholder perspectives on integrative oncology (IO) utilization for supportive cancer care.

METHODS: Members of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) completed a survey on the utilization of IOM for supportive cancer care. Despite common coadministration in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF), there is minimal evidence regarding the impact of concomitant amiodarone use on apixaban pharmacokinetics (PK). We described the population PK of apixaban (2.5 and 5mg twice daily) in 106 hospitalized patients with and without concomitant amiodarone administration at steady state. Apixaban PK was reasonably described by a one-compartment model with first-order absorption and linear elimination. Aside from the receipt of amiodarone, age was retained as a statistically significant covariate on apparent clearance. We aimed to clarify the prognostic value of SPDEF, explore demographic and molecular correlates of its expression, and investigate potential regulatory mechanisms underlying its dysregulation. Methods: Genomic and clinical data for 1218 breast cancer tumors were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Aim: Deep learning (DL), a branch of artificial intelligence (AI), has been applied to diagnose developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) on pelvic radiographs and ultrasound (US) images. This technology can potentially assist in early screening, enable timely intervention and improve cost-effectiveness. We conducted a systematic review to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the DL algorithm in detecting DDH. Methods: PubMed, Medline, EMBASE, EMCARE, the clinicaltrials.gov (clinical trial registry), IEEE Xplore and Cochrane Library databases were searched in October 2024. Prospective and retrospective cohort studies that included children (< 16 years) at risk of or suspected to have DDH and reported hip ultrasonography (US) or X-ray images using AI were included. A review was conducted using the guidelines of the Cochrane Collaboration Diagnostic Test Accuracy Working Group. Risk of bias was assessed using the QUADAS-2 tool. Results: Twenty-three studies met inclusion criteria, with 15 (n = 8315) evaluating DDH on US images and eight (n = 7091) on pelvic radiographs. The area under the curve of the included studies ranged from 0.80 to 0.99 for pelvic radiographs and 0.90–0.99 for US images. Sensitivity and specificity for detecting DDH on radiographs ranged from 92.86% to 100% and 95.65% to 99.82%, respectively. For US images, sensitivity ranged from 86.54% to 100% and specificity from 62.5% to 100%. Conclusion: AI demonstrated comparable effectiveness to physicians in detecting DDH. However, limited evaluation on external datasets restricts its generalisability. Further research incorporating diverse datasets and real-world applications is needed to assess its broader clinical impact on DDH diagnosis.

BACKGROUND: Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare and aggressive cancer from the serosal membranes of the abdominal cavity. In the United States, MPM accounts for about 10-15% of all mesothelioma cases, and translates into approximately 600 new cases diagnosed annually. It is typically diagnosed in Caucasian individuals, and while asbestos exposure is a well-established risk factor for pleural mesothelioma, its association with peritoneal mesothelioma remains less clear.
