Construct Validation Of Common Format Biodata Within The Public Sector, James Foster Baxter

Biographical data inventories (biodata) have one of the best predictors of job performance criteria for over 100 hundred years. Similarly, CommonFormat Biodata (CFB) inventories have also demonstrated their ability to predict certain performance criteria. There are two common themes and tow common sub-themes typically associated with CFB intruments, Education, experience, time, and specificity respectively. The major purpose of this paper was to employ a confirmatory factor analysis strategy to construct and validate a CFB inventory.

The Effect Of Locus Of Control And Type Of Voice On Satisfaction With Voice And Procedural Justice, Robert Eugene Thrall

This study examined the roles of type of voice and locus of control on satisfaction with type of voice and on feelings of procedural justice. Two forms of voice were assessed, instrumental and non-instrumental, as well as two forms of locus of control, external and internal. Participants read a scenario that randomly placed them into type of voice. Participants responded to surveys to determine the persons' locus of control, satisfaction with voice and feelings of procedural justice. A form of participation that brings employees satisfaction is voice. Allowing employees to express their opinions is seen as fair and has benefits …

The goal of this study was to provide a link between the family-supportive benefits offered by an employer, and the work-family conflict experienced by that organization's employees. In order for employee outcomes such as job satisfaction to remain high, the work-family conflict experienced by the employee needs to remain low. One way to possibly lower the amount of work-family conflict experienced is to offer family-supportive benefits.

This study was designed to investigate if society's view of sexual harassment is evolving along with new legal precedents that include remedies for same-sex sexual harassment. By using an aggressive provocation questionnaire and varied scenarios where responses were recorded on a 5-point Likert scale assessing their perception of the level of sexual harassment depicted in the scenario. Thus examining the role of aggression in people's perceptions of sexual harassment.

Comparing Job Component Validity To Observed Validity Across Jobs, David Charles Morris

Five hundred and eighteen observed validity coefficients based on correlations between commercially available test data and supervisory ratings of overall job performances were collected in 89 different job titles. Using Dictionary of Occupational Title Codes, Job Component Validity (JUV) estimates based on similar job titles residing in the PAQ Service database were collected and averaged across the General Aptitude Test.

Only in about 35 percent of mergers do companies meet their pre-merger goals. One cause of these failures is attributed to the unstable work environment created by a pending merger. Previous research has focused on post-merger attitudes of employees. The purpose of the current study was to explore communication processes in announcing a merger. The present study examined how the origin of an applicant's disability, the status of the job he/she was applying for and the level of test accommodation provided, influenced a participant's perception of what was a reasonable pre-employment testing accommodation. In a laboratory setting, three-person groups completed three survival themed tasks. The tasks were related in that the output of a preliminary task became the input of the sequent task.

Previous theoretical and empirical research has categorized organizational justice into two primary components, distributive and procedural justice, with procedural justice further broken down into formal and interactional justice. This research used vignettes to manipulate the presentation of these three components of organizational justice. Social desirability appeared to have an influence on the reporting of ethical decision-making.
