This study explores the extent of contribution of digital libraries to poverty alleviation of rural communities through skill acquisition training in Rivers State. The study was guided by one research question and a null hypothesis. The descriptive survey research was adopted. The sample size of 236 was drawn from the population of 2,355 registered learners from 12 registered vocational education centres using the convenience sampling technique. Data collecting instrument was the researchers’ structured questionnaire which was face validated by three experts. A reliability coefficient value of 0.83 was obtained using the Pearsons Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. Data were analysed using …

Objective: The objective of this systematic review is to consolidate the existing evidence on opioid use, including administration, dosing and efficacy, for the relief of dyspnea at end-of-life. The overarching goal is to optimize clinical management of dyspnea by identifying patterns in opioid use, improving opioid management of dyspnea, and to prioritize future research.

The case files of the late Judge Michael S. Kanne have been donated to the Indiana University Maurer School of Law’s Jerome Hall Law Library.

Kanne, a 1968 graduate of the Law School, served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit from 1987 up until his death in June 2022. Prior to his elevation to the Seventh Circuit, Judge Kanne served on the bench of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Indiana.

Embedded librarianship offers students, faculty, and librarians the opportunity to work closely together. After many years of collaborating with faculty partners and assisting students both inside the classroom and out, an embedded librarian in an undergraduate nursing research course sought the student perspective on having an embedded librarian.

In spring 2021, the research team scheduled focus groups to measure students’ perceptions of the embedded librarian’s impact on their research experience. Twenty-four students in five focus groups participated via Zoom. The group members met with students to capture firsthand accounts of their experiences.

COVID-19 impacted access to collections at all libraries, and the urgency of patron needs precluded the ability to ask our users about their opinions and preferences. In response to the pandemic, some libraries initiated an eBook-preferred model, some invested in e-textbooks, and others maintained the status quo for collection strategies. As part of CARLI Counts, four librarians at various institutions investigated the attitudes and preferences of students at their campuses by surveying them about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their experiences with eBooks. New employees can feel isolated and disconnected without concerted effort by library colleagues, limiting their ability to create meaningful partnerships.  Milner Library grappled with these challenges when a cohort of new employees arrived in summer 2020. Milner’s new mentoring program began to organize a series of virtual information sessions to increase awareness of different library departments. In the Getting to Know Milner series, presenters highlighted partnerships and the interconnectedness of library activities. Investigative research, focused on users' perception and use of serial materials, was conducted in academic libraries at Kwara State University library, Nigeria. The study population consisted of users in the respective faculties. A stratified random sampling method was used to select the sample. A questionnaire dealing with users' perception and use of serial materials was conducted on 4500 users registered in the Kwara State University library. The collected data was analyzed mainly by frequency counts and simple percentages. Study results indicate that university users occasionally use serial materials.
