This book is a guide to the latest research using the C-SPAN Archives. Three regional systems document each massive collaboration project to provide small and rural libraries with a consortia catalog. The systems Central Kansas Library System (CKLS), Northeast Kansas Library System (NEKLS) and Southeast Kansas Library System (SEKLS) narrate their system experience with creating a consortia catalog for libraries in their designated region. Their experience includes the history, the challenges and achievements and the future plans of each of the three Koha integrated library systems. All three systems currently still use this open-source software.

The purpose of this paper is to report results of a study on investigation of the preservation skills and strategies being used by the University of KwaZulu-Natal libraries in preserving electronic information resources (EIRs) to ensure their long term availability and access. Respondents are engaged through a census sampling technique and instrument for data collection is self-administered questionnaire comprising closed and open questions. A quantitative approach using the survey research design is used. Data is analyzed using Statistical package for the Social Sciences version 20. Abstract

Purpose: the present study evaluated the relationship between library anxiety and attitude toward computer based on as integrated model of ATC and BELCAT of public libraries’ user.

Methodology: the study was conducted using the analytic survey. A sample of 370 participants was randomly selected out of 10757 users of public libraries in Dezful city, Khouzestan, Iran. To collect data for library anxiety, Bostick questionnaire and for computer attitude a questionnaire based on ATC and BELCAT models were used.

This study examined the process of retrospective catalogue conversion (RCC) in selected federal university libraries in Nigeria. The specific purposes aimed identifying the resources for RCC, methods employed, competency possessed by the library staff for the process, problems associated with it and the appropriate strategies. The design of the study is descriptive survey, areas of the study were University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, University of Lagos, Lagos State and University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State and the population consisted of 42 professional and paraprofessional librarians. The Anchor: 2016

The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

Small But Mighty: Launching A Successful Scholarly Communications Initiative With Limited Resources, Michael Pujals

Many small schools worry that they don’t have the resources to launch and run a successful institutional repository initiative. It might come as a surprise that their very smallness comes with sizable advantages. At Dominican University of California, Michael Pujals, Scholarly Communications Librarian, has identified and successfully drawn on these advantages to build a thriving initiative in a short amount of time, including offering services for conference and journal hosting, thesis and capstone publication, and individual scholar pages for faculty members.

This presentation discusses a health information literacy project for teens that was a collaboration between librarians and experts in health communications and school administration. They co-developed and co-taught a required high school health course in Spring 2016 using student-centered active learning techniques. The course project was a “Teen Health” website developed by the students.

Business schools have increasingly turned to client-based experiential learning to better prepare their graduates with skills and abilities that translate to the workplace. The shift from academic learning to experiential learning requires a corresponding shift in the way librarians approach information literacy. This article explores this trend through the literature and through personal interviews and proposes ways in which library instruction, collection development, and liaison relationships can be tailored to meet the needs of experiential learners.
